Can that nut inside the strut be tightened I think mine is loose. And if it can how would I go about tightening it?

The problem could also be the upper strut mount ball and socket. There's a nylon bushing that is part of the ball and socket and it gains clearance. Check the small nut at the bottom of the strut also, sometimes they can loosen.

Is there an overhaul kit for the shock absorbers, how can you dismantle it without cutting it open?

No overhual kit.
These DSSVs are a strut insert type of shock. All the valving is within the insert, the insert moves within the strut body when the suspension is moving. The valving is attached to the shaft which is stationary. You could dismantle it and remove the insert. But, looking at the pic I posted above I believe that cut apart piece is of the strut insert alone. Not the entire strut assembly. The nut in question looks to be part of the strut insert and to get to it may require getting into the gas charged part of the insert. I had the Gen5 DSSVs on my '14 SS 1LE and I opened up one of my front struts to see the bumpstop. I removed the entire strut insert, but on those DSSVs the strut body was of a different design. It did not have integrated camber plates like the Gen6 DSSVs.

When you remove the nut at the very bottom of the strut this frees the insert from the strut body. But you have to remove the tension form the spring also. I think there's more to it than this. I am at work right now and I have also disassembled a damaged ZLE DSSV. I don't recall all of my disassembly and I have more pics at home.

Yes. You have to remove the nut at the bottom of the strut to allow the entire strut insert to be removed. Then the spring can be swapped. The upper strut mount (camber plate, upper spring perch) will come with the strut insert.

I didn't realize these were inverted shocks. Very cool.
