Swapping SS and ZL1 factory NPP Muffler

So I have been wanting to swap the npp mufflers of the ZL1 and SS for a while now. Even though most say there's no difference to me the ZL1 has a deeper tone. I posted 3 pictures and 2 are of the SS ands 1 of the ZL1 internally. As you can see from the SS pictures the exhaust is shared through out the muffler with the tubes in the middle. The 1 picture of the ZL1 both chambers are individual. This to me is the reason why I fell the ZL1 has a deeper tone. The only catch is I like the SS tips better. So if I can find a ZL1 muffler swap the tips it should get me what I'm looking for. Not really interested in spending 1k plus for an aftermarket exhaust since the NPP setup does the job for me just depends on which one.

You might be looking at the internals in different sections. Def looks like one is open on left, the other on the right.

Where did you get the center image from, where there are two pipes in the middle of the NPP?

Edit

So I found the image sources you used, the center image is confusing as the piping is different in each photo. I think one of them is the stock and the other is whatever they were testing. I am curious on this now as I had a ZL1 exhaust on my previous v6 and it felt deeper/more growl and while my SS is great I have a little missing so to say.

I'll try to find what TV show those images are from to see a proper answer

Found the show:

Yea that's the same video I watched where it got me thinking. Either way I missed out on the ZL1 muffler the guy sold it to someone putting his car back to stock to trade for a ctsv. Honestly they must need the 4 doors since they're basically the same car. Either way I'll keep looking for a deal like I missed out on to do it. No rush really.

I'm running a stock SS npp muffler with headers, 3in header to axle with an X pipe. My car sounds pretty normal at idle and cruising but when i get on it then it's mean as hell. I had no idea this muffler would sound so good by just changing everything before it.

I haven't made a video of it driving yet. This was a cold start after sitting for a few days

Factory mufflers sound change with age. Get a little deeper, lose the crackle and pops. Factory mufflers have the superior sound over time.

Sounds Identical to mine but mine is all stock with 74k miles on it now. Mine is also a 17' I took videos when new and compared them to now and the sound has definately changed over the years and mileage. How many miles on yours?

ZL1 muffler has larger tips, and they do sound a little different.
