4-5 Shift either slipping or bouncing off limiter
I’m just confused at this point, I previously had car tuned with some bolt ons on e40 and had this really weird transmission issue. I have an unlocked T87 tcm in my 2022 camaro (i have factory t93 locked in parts box). I bring this up incase it may be a root cause. But ultimately, every time I try to shift 4-5 it either slips REALLY bad or it will not shift and just hit a limiter and bog. I got the car retune after a cam swap on 93 on stock TCM and it had 0 issues shifting the 4-5. Eventually i put unlocked tcm back in car (because I thought the TCM was issue originally because when I put stock tcm back in it shifted normally until it started ****ing up on the stock tcm).
When i put unlocked tcm in and got tuned for e40 after cam swap, I tried to do some pulls after tuning and it just bounced hard asf off limiter. Reference this: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=480821 Because it is almost exactly what happens if my car decides to shift into 5th. At the moment its random when it decides it wants to shift or bounce of the limiter. Any ideas? I did not think it was trans related because it was an issue before the cam job, then i did cam and switch tuners on 93 and it was fine, then put ethanol back in with the new tuner and still the same damn issue it had. |

Who's tuning the car? This sounds like a tune issue.
Edit: After looking at your post history it looks like you were tuned by Katech. If you still are tuned by them and didn't change tuners then you need to send a log to them. They most likely need to adjust your shift points for your 4-5 shift. Last edited by Toakss; 10-04-2024 at 01:24 PM. Reason: Fixing |

If they messed with the shift timing, it might just need a small adjustment to the WOT SPEED/RPM. Hopefully it's just something small.
I can't, of course, comment on your situation, but from what I can tell, it sounds like I was in a similar situation as you. I, too, started with a T93, when HPTuners said it would NEVER be unlocked. So - I got a HHP T87a-conversion, and it worked just fine. Then, of course, HPTuners did unlock the T93, so I, of course, had to unlock mine and spend more $$$ on the credits (I accept responsibility, lol). But - I was able to use the exact tune file from the T87a for the T93. I didn't mess with much of the shift scheduling though. I spent a lot of time on other aspects, especially after HPT released the extended definition list, but, knock on wood, I haven't had issues. Hopefully this gets squared away for you.

Likely a tune issue. It could be in the ECU or the TCM.

1-2 months for a tune revision is unacceptable....1-2 days is fair. It does sound tune related, but it might also need the fluid level checked. I have seen them a little low and enough power will make them act erratic on the 4-5.
