I remember vaguely getting my first oil change on a camaro way back in 2015 (5th gen).....I think it was under $70...that too from a chevy dealership.

Air cleaner, rotate tires do yourself. Engine oil, Trans and rear end fluid change is all you need.

Unless you have changed your tires (different sizes and brand) they are different sizes in the front and rear as well as unidirectional so they only will work on one side. I never rotate my tires on my 2SS. I change my air filter and cabin air filter by myself as well. Air filter is less than $30 on Rockauto and cabin air filter is less than $20. It is highway robbery to pay any more for that stuff.

You know, with modern cars, you do not - and you really SHOULD not - use ANY oil, engine, or fuel additives. First off most of that stuff is snake oil, and secondly the stuff that does work is really designed for older engines with lower machining tolerances and generally less precision. Some of that stiff could actually hurt your engine.

So long as you use top tier fuel from the likes of Sunoco, only use 91+ octane, and change your oil regularly (5,000 miles or less) with ONLY Mobil 1 0w-40 green label ESP or Supercar, and flush your coolant and use only the GM Dexcool every 50,000 miles, your engine will run reliably and with every pony it was born with for 200,000+ miles.

Ultra Platinum is fantastic oil for the price.

But getting away from the Mobil Supercar with the Dexos R cert . . . now you get into a conversation about whether oils with that cert are really necessary or whether it's marketing BS or whether it's just that it's the only one tested by GM . . . only speculation to follow.

agree, lol. I bought a nice bottle of injector cleaner which is what i'm pretty sure is all they do.

Reading the list in OPs first post was pretty funny, though.

When shopping for car recently I found one dealer that added $7,000 for "dealer name" special package, which include "off hours service" and a list of many other non essential items.

I saw a youtube video from a regular auto content creator showing a Toyota Land Cruiser jacked up by over $10,000 one of which was $3,500 for "special off-road tires" that he looked up on line and could be purchased for $205 each.

If you are in the Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe, or even Phoenix area I’d be willing to give you a hand if needed. I even have the fluids for transmission/diff on hand.

We have high performance motors in cars we spent $50k+ on. I am sure there’s many oils and fluids that are very good. But me personally I would only trust the EXACT fluids advised by GM, marketing or not.
