Don't overfill your oil is pretty effective also.

Has anyone documented carbon build up on intake valves of a stock ZL1 LT4?
I would assume the risk is very low especially with use of a dexos or mobil 1 oil that meets ilsac gf-6. These were interesting to read: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...jection-2.html see post 233 here: https://www.stingrayforums.com/threa....12271/page-12 |

It is really just the oil vapor being pulled into the SC inlet from the valve covers. I added two $30 Air/Oil separators I bought on Amazon, made two aluminum brackets and spliced them into each plastic line using the provided hoses in the kit with epoxy sealed heat shrink between the hoses. In six track days and 10,000 miles... I have zero oil in my SC bricks!! I didn't go buy some high-dollar Mighty-something catch can and remove any of the factory systems to clean my SC's airflow. Understand... if there is oil in the SC under the lid... it has ALREADY gone past the rotors and they are covered too.
While removing the lid, you can take out the STEEL NOISE ABATEMENT PLATE and drop your Manifold Air Temps while also increasing the Supercharger Whine noise we all love! Another example of how the Engineers were told by tree-huggers at GM that SC Noise is BAD!! Removing the lid, cleaning and taking out the steel plate is a 15-minute procedure. You will thank me later!! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/cU604JnOhGI |

This is how you remove the supercharger lid and steel plate at the track to see immediate performance gains!

Other than the louder blower whine, I'm very skeptical with any other claim about removing the plate in the lid.

In fact... all those shops who sell Billet Lids, not ONE has ever done a comparison of just removing the steel plate in the OEM aluminum lip to the claimed HP gains of a billet lid and no steel noise abatement plate. |

I honestly couldn't tell any difference at all by removing the inside blower plate. But, when I got my DSX lid, it was noticeably much louder of a whine sound, then, when I got my blower Kong X-Port, HOLY CRAP that's a totally different ball game at that point !!!!!
