But, there is one exception. Since 2022, there has been an optional copper free brake package, also known as the (RPO) BCD package. Those pads are made by Brembo. Those pads are stamped BRM0023.

The Ferodo DS2500 pad is a slight upgrade over the HP1000. It has a little more higher temp friction.

I have the above mentioned copper free package on my '22 SS 1LE. I ran one track day with the OE copper free BRM0023 pad. Without getting too deep on those pads, I wanted better qualities and I tried the ZL1 sized HP1000, DS2500 and currently the DS1.11. Each was an upgrade to the previous. The Ferodo line is great if you want to swap out a street friendly pad one day and a race pad the next without negative consequences or additional maintenance.

Pad opinions can sometimes be all over the place because there are different braking styles, with different driving skillsets, on different tracks with different tire choices with varying levels of horsepower.

Wow! Thank you for taking the time to write that up. This is great info and I definitely owe you a beer.

I'll probably try those DS2500 in the near future on the OEM rotors.

I've really liked the change from stock pads to DS1.11. Good initial bite without being too grabby, doesn't upset the car (on slicks), nice modulation and feel. No overheating/glazing all day long -- I've been a heavy braker in the past, glazing the stock pads a few times. So far they seem to be living up to the extended life reputation. FWIW, I just keep them on for street use (maybe 5-10% of my use), they're fine but occasionally squeaky.

Still stand by my GLOC's. Bobcat's for the street, then R12's and R10's for track duty. Zero issues and they put up with a beating.
