One post drive on lift, check it out.

So my son in law and daughter moved from a 3 car gararge in their last house, they build a new one on a smaller lot but really needed room for his Bmw M3 so he started researching lifts a ran across this 1 post lift, he had room for a 4 post but it would be tight walking around it all the time. This is the most well built lift I've ever seen. I had a 4 post in my shop and loved it, his is just a awesome but with just one post. These is big time thick gauge, bolts are huge and he said it weighs between 5 and 6 thousand pounds. Fork lift required to move anything on this lift. He had it planned before the poured the floor and in the area where the lift is mounted its 8 inches thick with plenty of steel to make it safe to install, its not attached to the wall. These are cheap for sure, I believe there in access of 7k. Just thought I post for those that need one because of lack of space.

Damn, that’s pretty cool. I’ve tossed around the lift idea many times, but agree with you that both 2 and 4 post style take up a good amount of room. That looks like a slick setup.

One of my "nice to have" items was space for a lift in a garage when we were house shopping. I would have loved to be able to fit the truck, the 'vert, and the wife's smaller SUV all inside. It wasn't an option when we found the house that we bought this past summer.

We've been tossing around some ideas for adding more living space above one side of the garage, and now I'm wondering if maybe I could consider adding more space above the WHOLE garage so I can maybe put a lift in after all... Hmmm...

I had a 4 post in my shop, had plenty of room since its 40x40 with 18 ft ceilings. I miss it most of all the things I've sold after quit racing at least 3 times in the last 5 years.Name: 20190315_221423_1552706101168_001.jpg

Very nice! That's an awesome solution for those with a 2-bay garage with the ability to go tall.

Having a lift is a game changer when you work on your own stuff.

Looks good @CalgaryZL1!

I’ve always struggled with the 2-post vs 4-post deal. I’m assuming the 4-post is great for storage but not really helpful for actually working on the car…? And the 2 post is the exact opposite.

I am blessed because I am able to do 90% of any maintenance on the four post and if need be, I simply add my quickjack as if it is on the ground without having to bend over setting it up for the levitation affect. I guess it’s the best of both worlds.
