It does have one bolt next to the radio, though, so the radio needs to come out (the button surround trim comes first, then two bolts behind it, then the radio). Don't try to brute force the dash panel, you'll break the plastic.
Nevertheless, Krops was right, this is a trivial job. Plenty of youtube videos about it, too.

Dearest Krops & Arpad,
Forget it -- too many Hungarians on this website! (GUYS! *TOTALLY* kidding around. I think I saw either of you write something like that in a thread somewhere, so I couldn't resist...) Krops, yes, I've looked through the threads with your interior handiwork and it all looks VG. I'm thinking of some sort of overlay, onto which I (can try to) place some "artwork", for lack of a better term; pic to follow. Arpad, good heads-up on the lite "wrenching" that would need to be done. Have not checked any of those videos yet but would certainly do so before attempting anything. Anyway, I found myself very much liking the interior treatment on this $3M boat -- to say nothing of the smooth tail that I will eventually morph my own convertible to -- and may want to mess around with some possibilities:

At least they could've done something padded, similar Krops's products but maybe with a thinner foam, on the dash. That's the kind of thing that would fit a Camaro, we shouldn't go overboard with the luxury stuff, this is a muscle car after all, not a drive-thru dumpster queen or a kiddie hauler. Somewhat peculiar that my wife's old Traverse has a much better interior, including a fully padded dash, so it isn't like GM can't, it's that they won't.

So either it's lovely alcantara interior pieces, or 735-whp Camaros, or Nobel Prizes... *always* one-upping everyone else!
(BTW Arpad I'm *from* NYC so that one really hits hard) :-0 Anyway, though, what you write is maybe a version of what I had in mind, as an approach. I figured -- if I ever got around to it, of course -- that I would try to lay out and in fact *do* the "artwork", as pictured on that Rolls, on a sheet of cloth, or gray leather, or similar. Then I would see if either I could attach it to the unmounted dash pad with any success, or -- more likely -- send it to Krops to have him do that part.

AMAZON... lots of choices. I velcroed it to the carpet for my phone.
Don't see the faux leather one with red stitching though. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Accmor+Ca...t+Organizer%2C

Looks totally cool! We're considering the interior upgrade after installing the rotors and tires from 4Wheelonline this weekend.

Nice updates TheYankeeMarshal and 2SS Capt!
I always saw the resemblance of the Gen6 dash to my previous 2007 BMW Z4 dash - gauges to the left, center stack controls/display, and then a broad swath of open sculptural expanse to the right. I like the open space a lot. |
