Pretty ridiculous statement. I got a great trade in value on my 2015 v6 2ls. It all depends on the mileage, condition and options.

When the Camaro comes back as an EV the performance will eclipse the current ICE models. Nostalgia might be a reason to buy the 6th gen but performance won't.

when i traded off my 2019 civic Type R for my camaro it had 46k miles on it hail damage and a cracked windshield i owned the car for 3 years and paid $38k for the car dealer gave me $35k for it as a trade in so it held its value well.
so i would assume a Camaro would be close to the same

I must of missed an article from gm... When did gm say they were doing that?

Depreciation will be nowhere near the same. Civic Type R production is a fraction of what Camaro production is and the Type R is a halo car for the Honda market.

When I was young and poor, I had a couple of high mile, worn seat and worn bushings Camaros. I'm doing my part to ensure some other young guys will have affordable high mileage, worn cars to choose from.

My car is not an investment. I drive the heck out of it, rain or shine. It's what it was made for. I invest in other stuff, and use some of the proceeds to buy cars to enjoy wearing out.

To answer the OP's question: The SS will always be more desirable than the LT1 to collectors, drivers, or kids buying worn out cars. It's a Camaro SS.

Chevy promises that "this is not the end of Camaro's story."

lol. Not many people buy a car because of what it might be in 20-40 years. I got mine to drive and in 57 k miles I think I have already got my moneys worth.

Link to an official gm site that states that? All I could find that on is Car and Driver. That's not an official gm site.

Lets put it this way.

Would you rather have a 1967 Camaro with a 3.8L inline 6 or a 5.4L V-8?

Do you have a link to an official gm website for that quote? Not something like Car and Driver.

https://jalopnik.com/dead-the-sixth-...ll%20live%20on.

If you search you’ll find multiple links. A GM exec was quoted saying this.

Aside from that when they were unveiling their new universal skateboard platform for their upcoming ev’s they showed silhouettes of a bunch of different types of cars over the EV platform and one of them was in the shape of a sports car.

So there is not an official gm site that states that gm is making a 7th Gen "Camaro" (Sports Car)? So if gm does what Ford did with the EV "Mustang" Is that still a Camaro?

As per the topic of this thread... "If" the US truly does move away from ICE vehicles for good... I don't think any of our cars retain value. I think they all become boat anchors. Just my $.02
