I put a little electrical tape over the grill in the door jam but I'm unsure if that did anything or I just can't hear it etc etc

I always noticed that having the windows down sounded better than having the windows up and my ears weren't screaming bloody murder compared to windows up. I've seen threads here and there that talked about disconnecting the ANC due to the artificial sound it pumps into the cabin but what I didn't realize was how much validity there was to it. I went and de-pinned connector X3 pins 4/5, 12/13 at the Bose amplifier in the trunk just to see if it would help any, sure enough, it did much to my ears pleasure.

What sounded before like what I could best describe as a constant bass maddening frequency of 125-160 hz bias at RPMs between 1400-1700 RPM has now shifted in the spectrum on my DB spectrum analyzer to 80-100 hz at the same RPM. The car is not only quieter to my sensitive audible perception now but also much more pleasurable to drive.

Just figured I'd bring this issue to light a little more and specifically highlight that the reason for doing this is not just for audio installs but for aftermarket exhaust setups.

If there was a way to tune the ANC I'd be entirely all over it, but based on the amps design and software limitations on the HMI for 17-18 models I don't think it is currently possible.
Removing the wire to the door speaker would seem to be the easiest

I would disconnec t at the door but Im unsure of the what's involved in all that to get get the panel off or opened up. That would be my preferred method than jacking with the wires in the trunk, just my preference maybe.

I have never removed the door panels from this car but I have heard that some clips are not reusable and it opens the door for introducing new sounds and rattles if not put back together right.the trunk on the other hand that's easy to get to.
