So, this is apparently on the horizon:
https://fordauthority.com/2023/08/20...led-exclusive/ "The 2024 Ford F-150 will debut at the Detroit Auto Show in September... sources say that the upcoming Lobo will be positioned as a very distinct part of the upcoming model range." "According to sources familiar with the new variant, the 2024 Ford F-150 Lobo will be its own trim, similar to how the Tremor is positioned in the F-150 lineup. Unlike that off-road oriented model, the Lobo will boast a lowered ride height. Additionally, the trim features a “sinister and aggressive” appearance." Sound's like this Lobo will be what the '10-'14 FX2's and the TREMOR originally were back in 2014. A more street performance oriented trim. While in the same vein as those, I'm sure it won't be a full-on Gen 1&2 Lightning follow-up, it seems like it'll be better than nothing. And who knows, if it sells well, perhaps something more "hardcore" will follow, if not from FoMoCo, thank from one of its competitors.

Quoted from the article:
The adoption of the Lobo name for the U.S. market would be a first, although it has been used in Mexico since the 1990s. The Lobo, which is Spanish for “wolf” is used instead of F-150 on every Mexican version of the pickup, save the XL. The company decided to use the name to appeal to young truck shoppers,

I've been eyeing a Colorado/Canyon for the near future when we decide to have a second kid, and I configured a 2wd short bed with the high torque calibration. I would drop the whole thing a bit and level it out like I had my old S10 done, maybe upgrade the bushings, brakes, change the wheels and add lower profile tires. I have a steep driveway so I can't slam it (I can only pull my stock-height camaro in from one direction) or really go crazy.

Didn't GM learn their mistake in SSR ? That was a reason why Holden Commander Ute never be sold in America.
New El Camino sounds awesome, but I doubt Gm would do it again.

GM will not answer the Lobo, unless it is an EV something or another. That said a zero equipt regular cab 2x4 F150 XLT with the 5.0 is $50K I would expect the Lobo to be north of $60k.
No thanks.

Well, the average transaction price for the 2023 F-150 is $68,594, so. . . ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

GM could very easily introduce a sport truck with their midsize or full size pickup line(s). It remains to be seen whether they will actually do this given the market that is not driven towards sportiness at the moment. There would also need to be competition, enough for GM to make a profit from a new version.

gm should focus on quality builds before anything else new and support of previous manufactured products with quality replacement parts available
