Whipple 3.0 from Whipple Superchargers

After my last post, everyone on it said to avoid Weapon X. I'm gonna go ahead and heed that warning. After looking further on these forums Whipple (3.0) seems to be the best option for least modification/most power. So now I only have a few questions;

1. I emailed them and they said they specifically designed it to require no modifications to the engine, but that doesn't mean a few mods wouldn't hurt. Are there any other mods I should make to make sure this SC isn't gonna brick my car?

2. It apparently comes with a tune, does anyone know how much the tune makes in HP/tq? (I have 0 idea or experience with tuning)

3. Would it be wiser to have a mechanic install this or would this be good experience for me? I didn't see a warranty if I went to a certified mechanic for install so I don't really see a huge benefit in doing so

Any help is super appreciated!

If you are not mechanically inclined, suggest you take it to a speed shop for install and a tune. The base whipple tune is junk IMO. Have it professionally tuned by a tuner.
You will need supporting mods (LT4 fueling/port injection) to support the Whipple.
What is your HP goals? If you are reaching over ~650-700rwhp you may want to look at forged internals. Josh and I are running the Whipple 3.0 that I am aware of on this forum.
There is more to it than just slapping a supercharger on your car for sure. (This holds true for the Maggie 2650 as well- both are good superchargers- not excluding our ProCharger guys here either as we have plenty of those here too )

KingLT1 is running the Whipple 2.9 I believe and he has provided priceless service to some of the guys here in tuning their cars remotely. If you do not plan on digging into the motor, pick his brain on the right course of action for you to make you car reliable, as he is running the Whipple with no internal mods.

My power goals are 575-600 hp and 550 tq even. I want to avoid forged internals for the time being since this is still a pretty new car. Good to know the tune should be mostly ignored and should get a tuner shop to do it instead. Theres a good one in Boise I was gonna look into. I was looking at getting the LT4 fuel system put on but wasn't sure if it was necessary

Fuel system mods are a must, especially if you want to run any ethanol, which is almost universally recommended. To summarize from other threads. LT4 fueling is expensive right now (or just flat unattainable) so consider port injection as a cheaper, but more complex to tune, alternative.
