I really need help with this one.... again. My car, 2018 ss 1le randomly goes into key learn mode. If I don't try and start the car in 2 days the battery is stone cold dead, where I can't even use the remote to unlock the doors. It was fine for 3 months and now it's doing this again. Originally turning off the wifi in the radio settings I thought fixed it but now I'm back to the same situation. I'm assuming I have a bad bcm or a bad ground. The stealership is no help. The keys work and keyless works, but when I push the start stop button it says key learn mode pending, only sometimes. Why is it going into key learn mode?

Any aftermarket parts on the car? Tail lights, cameras, etc.? If so, put it back to stock as aftermarket crap are notorious for keeping the BCM awake when it should be asleep, killing the battery with parasitic drain.

Low voltage and dead batteries do all sorts of Bad_Things(TM) to the modules in the car. Charge it up and stick a tender on it.

Key Fob Battery completely dead Assuming you can't unlock the doors as well with the key fob.

If you can unlock the doors with the keyfob then its something else not sure what. Normally when I get that error its a dead key fob battery

Had that exact issue. Once it started and all was well, I took that remote and changed the battery.

2018blackss1le revived an old thread with his issue. Anyone answering posts prior to #29 are replying to the necrodead.

I've noticed when my key fob battery gets low this happens.

That's why I keep a fresh CR2032 battery in my glove compartment for a quick emergency swap out.

So allow me to answer my own post 9 months later. I'm not sure if me tapping in my radar detector into the overhead console caused this issue or if there was already an issue with this used car when I bought it, but the homelink garage door module is the issue. Pulling the luggage fuse compartment fuse f56( 5amp) fuse totally fixed the issue. I have recently reinstalled all pulled fuses with the homelink module unplugged and all is normal. I have since ordered a gen5diy radar plug for my uniden radar detector and it works fine even with the f56 fuse pulled. So again, maybe this was already an issue, but most likely user error, either way 9 months of cluelessness, everyday was a different scenario.

What is Homelink? Oh yeah, that thing GM used to offer in the Camaro. What would we do without aftermarket after 2024?

where can i get this part and how do i install it? i recently had my camaro say the key fob was not detected, i inspected the fob inside and out for damage and replaced the battery but nothing worked. I then disconnected the cars battery and let it sit for 25 minutes then reconnected it and the key fob started working. when i did that it asked me to roll down the driver side window then the passenger side. this was yesterday. it was fine today up until it stopped detecting it again then right after it worked. so it stopped detecting the key then detected it. does anyone know what's going on?
