Understood, but I don't want the extra complexity of integrating a radar detector with my phone. That combination from what I read, "does not blow the R7 out of the water". That is an extreme observation and the R7 works pretty sufficient for most peoples needs. Valentine lost me with their lack of an internal GPS in their unit. The R7 automatically blocks out repetitive non threats with the help of the on board GPS. I have been using radar detectors for forty years and have seen it all. I have been happy with the R7 for my needs. Although, I am keeping an eye on the Uniden R8.

Sounds like with your 40+ years we should be asking you for advice!!

Excuse my extreme observations sir.

Try not to be such an asshole ok?

Depends what you want... personally, I just don't care about the arrows, a simple alert that I'm being clocked is enough. Also R7 is much larger.

Wow, hardly a comment that deserves to be called an asshole. You have pretty sensitive thin skin. I'll tone it down just for you; I don't want to upset you and cause a tantrum.

I have 2 R7s and an R3. Use them with Waze. Definitely find the arrows to be very helpful for situational awareness - I feel a little lost when the R3 alerts.

Radenso Pro M. Cheaper radar detectors will give you a lot of false positives from blind spot monitoring systems on other cars or leave you with certain frequencies where you're unprotected from legitimate K band signals from cops because of notch filters to prevent the blind spot monitoring false positives.

Last time I checked even the more expensive detectors have the notch filter blindspots.

I have used Cobra detectors in the past. Works OK and cheap.

Have heard really great things about the Valentine 1. If I were in the market would also consider the Uniden R8.

If you drive like me, it's worth it to get a good one. $400 V1 probably saved me $5k over 15 years.

R7 is my choice. Front and rear facing radar detection. Arrows seem like a gimmick……until you have them. Nice to know if the radar is coming up from behind you versus ‘dumb’ lights that tell you on/off only. I like to know when I’m passing the source and see the arrow move from front to back. Important for hidden radar sitting on overpasses and on ramps.
