At this point, that is the plan. Katech to drill the Whipple runner manifolds and Mike’s Reflex for port ECU. In combination with my big LPE DI stuff, it should support a STUPID amount of power.

Adapter for the Katech 112mm TB can be ordered from Katech website!

What Josh is gonna need before long, in my opinion, is another diff. You and I both broke SS diffs with a good bit less power than he's going to be making. Of course, a junkyard replacement won't be good enough for him, I'm betting his car has a 9" by this time next year, because that's how he rolls!

Those 9"'s are expensive

We have a guy here in town with a Gen5 SS (manual) pushing over 1000rwhp with the stock diff (over 100,000 miles on it) and has not imploded it yet.... crazy.
However, he did implode the 2.9 Whipple that Kong just rebuilt for him. He knows only two speeds.... stop and WOT....lmao

I actually already have another lightly used SS diff that I just bought and have sitting in my garage. It will be undergoing surgery this summer and getting some precision pin work done to strengthen it…. If that doesn’t work, then yes, I’ll be dropping the cash for the 9” lol. But I’d rather stay with the oem SS diff since the Ford 9” is a HP hog…!

Too bad the SS1LE/ZL1 ediff isn't compatible with our cars.

Mechanical is preferable for drag racing IMO. The simplicity and lower weight is something I’d rather have over an eLSD that pays limited dividends at the strip. Just my 2 cents but these SS diffs take a beating pretty well for being so simple. I haven’t exactly been easy on mine the past few years. I have a stack of mid 9 time slips at nearly 150 MPH on it…hard to complain. Like everything else stock on this car, sooner or later it’ll need attention.

We truly abused the diff in my 16 SS and it finally gave up with over 320 passes and 12500 miles. The new owner back then finally destroyed it at a Street Car Take over in St Louis, that point and I'm assuming the original A8 and Torque Converter was still in the car when he sold it to a new owner. Pretty amazing I'd say and we threw over 850 rwhp at it for at least 100 runs

Have you upgraded the driveshaft and axles yet? Just wondering as it looks like your car is going to be bringing the heat too…!

That’s pretty damn impressive! I’m hoping I can hold off on doing the diff for a bit so that I’ll have time to try beefing up the spare one I bought. I should probably buy a spare 8L90 at this point too..

Looking at the carbon fiber driveshaft from DSS, but $1700+ kinda price, if I am not going to track the car. May have to save a few hundred and buy chromoly.... have not looked at axles yet...
Just trying to put the break in miles on it still, so I can get it tuned and the laundry list the speed shop needs to finish (I am at 100 miles so far for the break in..lol)

Been reading.. what is everyone's thought on zinc additives (ZDDP) to the mobil 1 synthetic oil? I read that the newer oils lack alot of zinc that helps the lifters and overall metal to metal wear?

I believe the Chromoly is the better way to go for durability. There have been some Carbon units fail at the strip.

Alot of engine builders/shops recommend using a break-in oil such as Driven or Joe Gibbs for the first 500 miles.
