I'll have to check for spacers in the front springs, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks
I did take it to 99 mph (I know, that's not much) on an open empty hwy, didn't notice any vibrations, the wing felt stable. I'd have to take it up to 150 mph to give it a real test. Will post results if I get that opportunity. |

I have the C7 Carbon 1LE spoiler (the car came with it) and was not totally thrilled with it's build quality. A lot of potential for leakage through the stands/ posts of the spoiler ultimately causing the potential for a lot of leakage in through the integrated stand bolts which can make it into your actual trunk itself, but I understand why they need to be built the way they are with that being said. Sealing not only requires that stupid double sided tape stuff that I loathe using so much, but I had to apply a sealant to the stands where the bolts go into to hold the actual spoiler itself on the top, onto the trunk itself, and as a "just in case" I put some sealant on the bolts as well where the nuts go onto.
Unfortunately, I just recently had to do this too, as the spoiler was leaking so bad that it was allowing tons of water that we were getting from this heavy duty rain where I'm at to get into the trunk through the center stand/ post. If I didn't do it, the potential for a lot of the electronics on the trunk floor as well as the trunk latch itself would have gotten water damage and possibly short circuited. All is good now, but it was a pain in the rear to get it right, and the center stand does not sit totally flush on the trunk and that in itself seems like a fit and finish issue.

The stantions on this wing came with foam seals already bonded to all three bases. They were about 1/8' thick and easily compressed when I torqued down the bolts. This should provide an adequate seal. I'll keep an eye out for leaks. I too do not care for the 3M double sided tape on these spoilers, very difficult to remove. I guess if you aren't ever going to remove it then that's great.

If I wasn't at work right now, I'd run out and look. It will be the 1st thing I check tomorrow morning. I hope you are right, and those spacers are there. It'd be an easy way to lower the front. Thanks

Thanks everyone!
Well, yall were right!!! It is TOO HIGH. The spacers are still installed in the coil springs. 2 years and 3800 miles now. Thanks to everyone for recognizing this and telling me there's a thread about it. I found the thread and read everything to know what to look for. I'll be removing them tomorrow morning. Can't wait to see the difference. |

Well 2018ZL1, you were right in your suspicions. The orange plastic spacers were still installed! Here are some pics, LH and RH side. Before measurement at the front splitter apex showed 8.0 inches, after 6.5 inches! A very big difference. The car looks a lot better. I'll post some better after pics when I can get to it. Here's one to start with.
A special thanks to 2018ZL1 and everyone else for pointing this out. Last edited by VmaxGen2; 01-18-2023 at 12:22 PM. |

Hi all,
So typical of dealerships nowadays. Hiring idiots as service writers and general work mechanics. You have to look around a lot to find a good dealership with quality mechanics. I’m still looking for one here in the west valley of Phoenix! JJ
