I have not eaten or transported food in my Demon or ZLE...and I wont.
They are just pleasure cars. My Jeep Gladiator however, is a restaurant on wheels for my 2 girls when I pick them up from my "vicious ex".....

My 2017 1SS made the occasional small store run, but if it was take out, it went on my passenger seat, on a doubled over towel I kept on it. Never ate or drank anything in it, except for water.
My 2018 Hot Wheels 2SS M6 is purely a weekend joyriding car, show car, and garage queen. No food, drinks or store runs.

I use weather-proof floor liners, so, anything I'm carrying home goes on the floor.
I don't eat in the car because I know I'll f* up eventually, and if I have more than one bag of groceries then they go in the trunk. Bottled water gets a pass. |

As for my SS, I'm like you, not the DD and summer only. I'll pick up take-out in it, but haven't eaten in it and don't intend to. I'm a diet-coke-aholic but I'm very careful! I found that the Yeti 12oz can holder fits perfect in the forward cup holder (weird fact, the aft cup holder is slightly smaller...what was GM thinking?).

Well mine's my daily driver, but the "rule" is the same in any and all vehicles of mine, past, present, future:
No food or drink. Bottled water is fine, but it must have a screw-on cap. Groceries in the trunk is fine, obviously, as is single plastic bag or two of dry groceries in the back seat. Any restaurant take-out food goes in the trunk, and if said food emits any odors, I will cover it/anchor it into place ( so it doesn't slide around and spill ) with detailing towels and a pair of old coveralls I keep in there. 2018 car, still has much of the "new" smell. Now and then if I bring a pizza pie home and it's not ready to be eaten right then, I'll just lift the hood and set the box on top of the engine to keep the pie warm. |

There's a difference between eating messy food and something convenient that isn't going to get sauce everywhere, just like there's a difference between having boots covered in mud and shoes with some dust. If you need to make a loaded statement to get a point across it's not as convincing as you think it is.

You are the person that posted the question so Alan replied. If you want to eat in yours that’s fine but don’t knock other members replies to your post. And it’s not a loaded statement in my opinion!

I don't care if he doesn't eat in his car, but his reason was the textbook definition of loaded language, i.e. he picked the most extreme example as the baseline to make eating anything seem crazy. He said sauce will get everywhere, implying that we're talking about eating bbq ribs or fries with ketchup rather than snacks like jerky or nuts.

Keeping my car immaculate is one of my life's missions. It sure paid off when I sold my 2002 Z28 with the 408 stroker. Buyer was impressed how clean it was. Told him never ate in it, never transported food in it, had driving shoes and gloves, always garaged and covered. Never seen rain or a damp road. Buy looked over the build file and the service file and promptly handed over a very large stack of C-Notes.
