Toohighpsi port kit ?’s
Hey guys, so I’m looking at the THP port kits and am curious if I put this on with my current tune and do the MAF adjustment like the tutorial shows won’t my VTT and DD tables be out of whack too? It’s my understanding that most everything on these cars is MAF controlled. I’m really looking at adding the PI kit but just got the car dialed in and running awesome on e50. Yes I’d like to be able to not blend and have the extra fuel if I add more boost down the road.
Currently running BTR stage 2 cam, LPE big bore, +30’s with P1X 14psi at 891 whp on e50/55 @ .84 lamda and 5.2MS. @ 6800 rpm. It took me awhile to get my daily driving and wot dialed in to my liking I just don’t want it to go out the window with the PI kit Thanks guys Last edited by JP374; 10-29-2022 at 02:08 PM. |

I am sure it will require some tuning work outside of just yanking 30% out of the MAF table from 6500hz on up. If this shit was easy everybody would be doing it. I would stay at home base and enjoy the car for a while if you have it dialed in. Blending E is easy as pie anyway.

Kinda what I’m thinking as well. I’m happy at my current power level and drivability, it would be solely for the ease of pump e85 at this point and to have added headroom down the road. Maybe I will focus on other things like suspension etc. |

If I had the PI kit then I could likely buy Josh's 8" lower off him and see how far I can push this thing before the pistons end up in chunks. Lol There is that little Devil dancing on my shoulder again! We all suffer from it!!

I know Phil does, he tuned my C7 and initially tuned my new Camaro. I see you have a Pro Charger and I know he does a lot of those. Sounds like you already have HPTs so that's what you'd need. I don't know about Alex at New Era but I think Matt at Nickey does. You'd just have to contact them.

On Greg's car the work that Phil did on his E85 tune had it already well prepared for port injection, I honestly didn't have to do anything torque related to his car to have an adequate reported torque. Once you're at 1000+ RWHP with a stock LT1 high side on full E (80%) you'll need about 65% port and that requires a good understanding handling the torque tables to achieve the required torque to keep the automatic transmission happy (manuals are easy).

Are you running meth also? Adding about 10% port is all you'd need to be able to run full E with your current fuel system. Going to 30% would give you enough to hit just over 1k on full E.

It really is, luckily our area never has over E70 and its usually E65 to E67 from the pump. Every time I fill up I log the E content and its consistent between the E65 and E67 so it makes it easier to tune at the content for FF advance and overall tuning.
