Question about Exhaust headers

22’ headers for ZL1 ( not 1LE) ; install on a set of aftermarket
Headers: difficulty? And does it void warranty?

Headers will void your warranty and you need a tune to optimize them also.

Great question... I did this myself (ARH Long Kit + AWE Exhaust)...
I also did the BMR tubular motor mounts at the same time, which made the job alot harder, but made the header portion of the install a breeze. They slipped in from the bottom in less than 60 seconds per side... All at home on jack stands no problem.

TIPS if I may... based on my experience.

1. Get your entire kit Jet Hot coated first, and get the GREEN / GESI cats to keep the noise tolerable)
2. Keep the stock cat-back with valves for now. Any change later if you think it needs more...
3. Take your parts to a local exhaust shop for install. Have them replace the crappy brackets with V-bands for easy future changes, and a leak proof design (my ARH leaked like crazy)
4. I'd also have them weld on a bung for future wideband.

Food for thought.

Header install difficulty can vary between brands. Some fit easier than others with taking less stuff apart on the car.

Headers themselves probably won’t void your warranty, but the tune required afterwards will.

these are a great mod for the zl1, but I believe they also need you to get a tune, and that will make any future warranty issues difficult.

Headers are no fun on jack stands.
