M6 Shifter Rattle

My M6 shift knob rattles when shifting gears. It sounds like it comes from the top of the shift knob. I've tightened the torx screw with blue threadlocker but it didn't help. Is there anything else within the shift knob that could cause this noise?

Video of the rattle:

I have a 16 SS 6MT and have had the same rattling and buzzing from the shifter knob that started not long after I got the car new in 2016. I have tightened the knob twice and still have the problem. It is most noticeable when doing a hard pull in second or third gear. I have to put my hand on the knob to stop it. It's very annoying. I'm in with the OP hoping someone can chime in with some suggestions.

If getting a new shift knob is the solution I'd gladly get another one, but I don't want to spend $160 for no reason

Can't tell from that video if the knob is loose on the shaft, of the lower end of the shaft is loose against the linkage.
I would try grabbing the shift lever through the leather cover and see if you can move the knob. It really looks to me like all the play is down below.

I'll take another video today. How would you tigthen the linkage if it's loose?

I think there might be plastic bushings in the linkage. There was another thread recently where someone had a problem with those. So, they would be replaced, not adjusted.

Shifter/knob rattle or buzz has been a issue for awhile. I had a brand new 2016 V6 6 speed car with the issue. If I remember the shifter knob and the boot have to be removed and there are set screws that have to be tightened. It fixed my car and I drove it 10k miles with no more problems. Research it, that info was available on this forum and I thought there was a TSB on that. Its been 6 years and that is all I can remember.

I've tightened the set screw with threadlocker but it didn't do anything. The noise is still there

I cannot remember what procedure was needed, but if there is a set screw that holds the shifter knob tight to the handle, and you are sure that is what is vibrating or buzzing, take the knob off and drive around with out it and see if there is still noise, maybe its the shifter stick itself? other wise if the noise is now gone study the shifter knob and how it goes over the shifter arm and fiqure out a way to make the knob fit and tighten rattle free
