No, I don’t think that is the case. The GM/CAI intake is smaller than the OEM intake tube. Thus the retune by GM.

LMP, I believe, still makes a lid.

I can't recall, but I believe Cordes either cuts their own, or uses someone elses.

I thought I saw LMR cutting their own, too. I know they do for Maggie 2650s.

Some say they add power (LMP) and some say they don't do anything for power (RPM and Cordes). If whine is your goal - I don't think you can go wrong with any of these, so far as I can tell.

They're purely cosmetic and free advertising for some of the companies that put their company name on them.

Does anyone own a DSX Tuning lid? Apparently they make them as well and I had no idea they were even a player in the game.

That's a good find, significantly cheaper than the other options. On their website though they only list fitment for Z06 and CTS-V. I would suspect it also fits on a Camaro but I don't know the clearance differences on the strut bar compared to Z06/CTS-V.

No they definitely fit Camaro as I have spoken to Matt directly there and he didn't claim any further increase in power, maybe 5 HP gain (his words not mine) he did claim more whine, better built than OE obviously, the option to make a stealth version for a little bit more money, he also stated they are made in house entirely so made in US and not just some made in China then rebranded and claimed as their own.

I was talking to him about the height of the lid and he mentioned they were OE Camaro height as they made one which was taller and it netted them 0 gains.

I have the dax lid on my zl1 and there are no fitment issues.

Any notable differences over the OE lid?

That looks nice! It's good to see the lid fits under the BMR tower brace because I have the exact same one.

It's just for looks Honestly. I don't notice any difference but it is slightly louder.

How much louder is slightly? You're starting to make me doubt going this route and just going for a Rotofab instead. Lol.

Why not go with an intake? It's a lot cheaper than a lid and has real benefits in addition to the sound.

I plan on doing both a lid and intake to hear that glorious SC.

It's louder but not as loud as the nx lid from what I see on YouTube.

The intake makes no difference in performance, it's only good for sound and is not needed until post 750 or 800 horse believe it or not.

You live in state as well, so you will have to deal with the same pain in the rear that everyone else has to deal with here eventually, once your 6 year abatement is over. I'm just trying to keep things as simple and legal as possible honestly. Once I have to wrench because I have to and not because I want to then it becomes a chore and no longer fun for me.

Yeah, CA sucks. Although they did at some point make it 8 years exempt instead of 6 years, which does help.

I plan on doing light mods only that are easily reversible. Intake and lid seem fairly straightforward along with a legal exhaust should make the car MUCH more enjoyable for the 8 years.
