I had been looking at a 1LE off and on since I first test drove one in 2019. I really wanted a Riverside Blue 1LE. Then came the pandemic. Although I've owned a C6 Corvette and a BMW 1 series, I've been a Nissan Z guy for years. In total I've owned three Zs, including my 2003 350Z which I still have.

In August of 2021 I was looking at information on the new Z and anticipating buying one as soon as it was released. However, due to the pandemic and other issues, the release of the Z kept getting delayed. So in December of 2021 I decided to order a 1LE. In looking at the 2022 model I discovered that Rapid Blue (from the C8) was available for the 2022 model year, so I settled on that color rather than Riverside Blue. I really liked the contrast of the blue and the black on the 1LE.

So in early December 2021 I placed an order for a 2022 Rapid 1SS 1LE from my local dealer, knowing that the dealer didn't have a current allocation, but expecting one in a few weeks. After 8 weeks with no allocation I started looking on the Chevrolet website for another 22 Rapid Blue 1SS 1LE. I finally found one that was in transit to a small dealer in SC. The car had been ordered for someone in the summer of 2021, but because it had taken so long the buyer went another direction. I quickly put down a deposit on the car and cancelled my initial order.

On February 16, 2022 the car arrived at the dealership. On Saturday, February, 19, 2022 my son and I made the trip to SC to pick up the car. Before leaving the dealership and making the 225 mile drive home, I installed ACS Composite rock guards, which I had purchased before the car arrived. I also installed the nose mask I purchased (before I had PPF installed) for the drive home.

After getting the car back home I washed, clay barred and then used Zaino AIO on the car. Then I installed the ACS Composite ZL1 style side skirts that I had purchased for the car before its arrival. I also removed the Camaro fender badges and replaced them with 1LE emblems.

Next I ordered and installed a Chevrolet Camaro strut tower brace, a black "Camaro" fuel door and suede knee pads, for which I used part of my initial $1,000 deposit at my local dealer, to purchase after cancelling my initial order. I felt bad for cancelling my order so I told the dealer I would spend my deposit on accessories and maintenance.

Several weeks later I had PPF installed on the painted parts of the front of the car and the mirrors.

My next mod was adding a trim piece around the shifter and mode and e brake controls. I did this after having issues with the drive mode getting inadvertently changed when shifting gears. Thanks to the forum for the information on the trim piece. I went with silver to match the trim on the doors.

And I almost forgot about my 3D Maxpider floor mats. The best all weather mats I've had.

Thanks. I have already installed suede knee pads, but I might want to replace the console lid at some point.

Thanks guys! I'll check them out. I have the smoked side markers on my wish list, but I haven't really looked into them yet.

My next mod is probably going to be an oil catch can. I've had Mishimoto catch cans on a couple of other cars so I'll probably go that route for the Camaro.
