I just finished up the front BMR End Links, next on my list is to build a custom rear diffuser and rear end links.

I've been running GTA a few years in my white Evo X in Street Mod. Was going to run the ZLE in GTA this year but with no 19" AO52s available I will be sitting out this year.... Already have a few sets of 19" and don't wanna invest in a set of 18's for just one year.

Saw you guys run COTA, Limited is a hell of a class this year.

End links are done and I attempted building a diffuser that worked with the stock bumper...

It didn't work.

I purchased the mounts from ZL1addons (which I had to machine because the pairs of mounts were uneven, and added threads to the rear mounts) and made up an alumacore diffuser. I found the bumper is so low I only got around 4 degrees of angle on the diffuser (you want at least 10). And when I modified the mounts to have a 10 degree angle the diffuser sat up inside the bumper... so air would have been caught by the diffuser... So until I find a good looking diffuser (or work with a company who makes aero components out of carbon so I will want to cut my rear bumper) I shall run without one.

Upside. Mounts are strong AF in case I ever go with a giant diffuser.

I think I am not competing in more NASA or SCCA time trials for 2022. The car was reasonably classed in TT2 for NASA against the average builds. I never would compete against a Max Effort build. Unfortunately, NASA’s removal of a modifier for Goodyear 3R’s puts me in an awkward position of going up to TT1, running 200TW or Toyo RR to stay in TT2. I can’t afford to chase rule books.

SCCA TT is fun, but they really screwed the pooch by having Track Night in America HPDE in the middle of the day. I spent four hours just waiting around. Additionally, some of my NASA mods now bump me from S1 to M1 on a slower 200tw tire.

I’m looking forward to running smaller HPDE groups with open passing.

Curious if anyone ever found a viable diffuser option for those with non-oem exhausts

I dont think you need it. The muffler doesn’t make contact with the bumper so the air flow should still get up there from the front or the back. As the OP stated the angle is all wrong if you do 100% block it off. So really adding one just blocks the bumper and doesn’t actually function for down force.

So really you have 3 options
1. Leave it alone and have drag probably not far off from OEM
2. Just plate it and block it.
3. Cut your bumper apart straight across so you have no parachute, or cut it way up to make a real diffuser, or add the old school Civic cutouts to release the air pressure.

3b. Could work and still look clean if you hacked this off.

MFR Diffuser with AWE Track exhaust. Owner of MFR even pushed it back more and made cuts for the piping. I haven't see what angle the diffuser it at, but I'm sure it's at least 7 degrees.

I spoke to Mike (was that you?) about getting one but wanted to see the installation instructions first, they wouldn't do it which was very off putting. They are here locally to me so I may stop by one say. Pretty speedy though I must say.
