One is not like the other



Had a misfire during last track day. Felt like a fouled plug. Found this. How badly do you think I damaged the motor? Changes all plugs, feels fine.

Any advise on next steps?

Oh no! That doesn't look good!
My next step would be borescope, and leakdown test.

What cylinder did that come out of? Did it start missing real bad like it bent an exhaust valve?

Number 7 - after changing plugs, car seems fine.

No, you've got an issue. Typically that will occur from too much heat in that cylinder which could be caused from a lean condition or too much timing. Is the car stock?

Probably need to check your tune.

Not a bad idea to borescope that cylinder.

But if the car is running fine, its likely okay. Now if the porcelain would have broken and bounced around in the cylinder, thatg would be bad.

That doesn’t mean that the motor is hurt. It may very well be fine. Just need to check things out.

Leak down test will reveal an issue. If you have bore scope check inside but leak down will tell you whats bad. Might have burned it off completly and nothing is in piston. Seen power adder cars burn them off stock at dealer.
