Im so confused I see everyone getting order numbers so I asked my dealer for mine. I ordered 1/31/2022 and they keep telling me they dont have a order number until GM accepts the order. Is this legit? why would they accept my deposit and not give me proof that they submitted the order? is this common? any body know any dealers with allocation that are accepting factory orders? 2SS 1le 6mt satin steel with sunroof

It isn't true, I got my order number the moment I signed the order documentation. When the salesman entered my order into the workbench, he gave me a printout along with the order code.

The order the dealership creates for you has an initial status that shows just that (order created, not yet accepted by GM). I'm not sure why they don't want you to know that, there could be many reasons, but if I were you, I'd go back and ask for the (6-letter) order code again, telling them I'm interested in tracking order status.

Now, if they have a problem with that, you'll know how much you can expect down the line when you actually need their help with, say, a warranty repair.

^^^^ +1 for this comment. I got my order number the day they swiped my card for payment. No questions asked. I wanted the workbench anyways to be sure my order was correct because mistakes could happen.

I received my order same day as I submitted it. A few weeks later I decided to upgrade to a ZL1 on the order and that same day I received a new order number. Sounds like a sketch dealership, I would start calling around.

Something is fishy with your dealer. If they inputted the order in the system, there is a six digit code that is immediately generated. Sounds like you need to speak to someone higher up the food chain or take your money to another dealer.

Another +1 for these comments. Even my backwoods small dealer gave me the Workbench document. He printed 2 copies so we could go over it together.

I'd ask for a refund and move along.

Tell them that Chevy's website stated that you should have a code that was generated when the order was created. If they can't produce a code for you, then I suspect that they're only going to be harder to deal with as the process continues. Time to ask for your deposit back and move on.

You may need to think about another color, Satin Steel is not going to be available in 2023. Your order of a 2SS will most likely be constrained, and may not make it in by the cutoff for 2022 models.

Change of plans. found the car in black at a dealer ship in Maine, got approved waiting for pricing on delivery Monday. Deaqler charging sticker will let me register it myself all in the span of 20 min vs 2 weeks with the previous dealership waiting and not getting an order number.

the dealer said they use gm shipping is there an alternative and how much do they charge?

I am buying my car out of state, and I had to coordinate for my own transport from the dealer to my home state. It is about 500 miles away from me. I have contacted a bunch of open carriers, Reliable Carriers and Plycar for quotes on shipping. They have been about $800 on an open truck, and between $1200-1300 in an enclosed trailer. I've never heard of GM shipping from a dealer out of state. I thought they just went from the factory to the dealer only. I would be interested and hearing who does your transport, if the dealer arranges it. My dealer will not recommend any carriers.

they finally gave me the order number BJXVJQ how funny now that I went with another dealer they were able to find it

Your order has been submitted by your dealer but has not officially been accepted by GM at this time.

That means 1100 status, at least they put it in.
