Sea Foam

Has anyone ran Sea Foam through the intake of their LT4? I am a kind of leery about it and I can't find any info about running it through the supercharger. Thanks.

I’ve used the crc intake valve cleaner twice with no I’ll effects. It doesn’t contain anything that would harm the blower.

Does seem to do a decent job at cleaning some gunk off valves.

Sea foam has been around forever. It was very popular back in the LS2 days of the early 2000s. Never heard of it doing any harm.

I was just concerned about it pooling in the blower.

He’s talking about spraying it into the intake to clean the valves , not putting it in gas.

CRC is still the better option as it contains high levels of PEA.

talked me into it. We were surprised at all the gunk at 11k miles during my cam install. This was the exact product we were looking at

I couldn't get my hands on CRC cleaner locally. None in stock here anywhere so I ended up going with Seafoam.

I didn't want to do this in my neighborhood so I went to a QuickTrip near the toll road so I could immediately open it up when I was done, except.. ..there was a cop there.. ..so I waited for the cop to leave and I began..

I managed to undo the Brake Booster with the motor running. Surprisingly it did not idle high at all with the brake booster disconnected. I also noticed my Brake Booster seemed very oily.

I slowly poured it in with the motor running, no smoke came out initially. The motor also would not stall when I poured it in despite being instructed to intentionally stall it with the seafoam. When I finished up, I reconnected the Brake Booster, I let it sit for about 15 minutes. It was a very rough crank to get her back to life. She idled okay up to the tollroad, but when I stepped on it, it felt like I was revving in nuetral for a moment and pure soot just exploded from my exhaust.. ..it bucked for a bit and the check engine light started flashing as I rolled onto the tollway.. .. onto the ramp I opened it up WOT.. ..getting it to about 80 where I just left clouds of smoke behind me, backing out of it as I merged onto the highway.. .. .. where I slowed down to about 50 MPH and prepared for another WOT run.. ..but that was interrupted as I ran across two sheriffs in the median of the highway.. ..and I just innocently cruised on by them at 25 MPH BELOW the speed limit ... I waited about a mile or so and then gassed on it again, this time throttle response was much sharper.. ..but not wanting to press my luck, I got off the tollway a few exits down.. ..1st Gear response was no longer sluggish, no bucking or rough idle.. ..so now we just wait and see until the next few cold starts to see if this helped my problem. (My car was randomly misfiring during cold start idles)

Why the brake booster? would it be better to do it at the TB elbow? Ive been meaning to do this for my cars but I always get worried about it. Also, I think my neighbors will probably call the fire department.

Not sure for the TB Elbow. I've always done it through the Brake Booster. When I do it, I don't do it in my neighborhood. I go someplace out in the open where I can quickly open it up, and also not remain in one place very long in the event someone gets peeved.
