I like my HRE FF04 wheels in liquid metal very much.
Easier to clean. Brake dust is less noticeable. Roughly 7 lbs lighter per corner than the OEM wheels. Offsets specific to the 6 gen Camaro. And they don’t require a second mortgage to purchase.

Savini SV-F3. I also changed the stock pads out for power stops. I rarely need the clean the wheels anymore. The stock wheels would take me 2 hours to clean and then 100 miles later covered in brake dust again with stock pads.

tried something like that. Helps with the knee pain but not really for back. I still find myself leaning over to much for too long. It's not easy being a giant.

Totally agree with everyone, cleaning these wheels SUCKS and worse part of washing the car. Irony is they also are the first thing that gets dirty....without even driving in rain.
I actually like the color instead of a gloss/satin black, but I have a black car and everyone has black wheels now so it's nice to be different. I've kicked the idea around of 1LE wheels since before I got the car, I hate wheel styles like this for the fact of cleaning them. I have yet to do it, maybe when I have to get new tires. I've only come across 1 picture of a ZL1 bumper'd SS with 1LE wheels, wished I'd saved it. Before washing this time, to help clean them I tried wheel cleaner (Mother's brand, I think). It helped cut down on it how much dust, but still had to wash them by hand so in the end it was pointless. To make life easier on cleaning of them, I swapped out the brake pads on all 4 corners to PowerStop Z26s, bedded the new pads in and washed the car/wheels. I daily the car and 4 days later they're still shiny gray. The pedal feels great as well, not quite as touchy as it was with the Brembo pads. I actually prefer the pedal feel with the Z26, but we all know it's a give and take with pads.

I use a cheapo low-pile microfiber with the "floss method" described above.
But better than that, I swapped out the OEM pads for Powerstop Z26. Zero dust. But they are street pads and definitely not for the track. Also I had some Gtechniq Crystal Serum Black (ceramic coat) and Ctechniq EXO put on the wheels when I bought the car 4 years ago. Makes what little cleanup there is much easier. The rest of the equipment I use for the wheels is here: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...86&postcount=9 and I sit on a small stool for the sake of my old knees.

you spray this on and use a light power washer or hard nozzle with city pressure like the cone looking fire mans nozzle there will be no scrubbing.

I'm glad the ZL1 wheels aren't black. I had black SVE R350 19" wheels on my 2018 Mustang GT that looked great, but they were more simple/plain. Details get lost in the black in low light and in pictures, so I like the "gun metal grey" color of the ZL1 wheels more than black.
They are harder to clean than more simple wheels, but I make do.

I powder coated mine matte bronze and ceramic coated that. They have a satin sheen now and most, if not all of the dust comes off with my 1800 psi electric pressure washer and 30 degree nozzle.
I feel you on bending and stooping, my knees just won't let me do it for as long as it takes, but with the pressure washer, it's not near as bad. Last edited by crosive; 08-11-2021 at 04:27 PM. |

The stock wheels look better than any of the wheels people have posted on here.
