I had a 19 mustang GT running e85 and she put down 470 on a dynojet locally. That car had plenty of power, id like to match what it made or come close. I know the camaro is lighter but within 10-20hp would be nice. Otherwise I might as well just go for boost. |

I think that GPI gained ~14 hp with an LT2 that is not ported, and the ported LT2 gained ~17 hp. With what I know now about these engines, I would not buy an intake manifold that did not properly accept at least a 95mm throttle body. That means either an LT2 that is fully ported and modified to accept a 95, or an MSD (what I have), to me (street manifold with no cutting). Properly accept means NO REDUCER PLATE, because choking down your 95 t/b is stupid AF in my opinion. As far as your goal, 80 is a little excessive of an expectation IMO without adding exhaust mods to your list. Maybe 50~60 with just intake-side mods and flex fuel? My own SS has some intake-side bolt ons and flex fuel and has gained power for sure, but I don't give much of a care for dyno numbers, so have not tested them in that venue. Where it actually matters though, namely the actual performance of the car, the car went from running 114 mph on the dragstrip when stock, to 122 mph in street trim with bolt-ons. Part of the gain was the tuning in the tcm, so I cannot attribute all of that gain to more hp, but unquestionably it had increased.

Axle back does nothing for power at bolt-on level. Headers and or cat delete are where the gains are at until you start making a lot of power.
My old setup: Pray ported stock IM/TB Rotofab dry SMG flex fuel kit CA cat delete pipes Best time was 3.4 0-60, 11.5 @ 121 1/4mi according to Dragy. Street pull with stock wheels full weight on a 305/35/20 Nitto drag radial. Edit* The best it did stock was 12.4 @ 116 on the street with factory tires. I am sure it would of went 11.9 on the DR's but I did the bolt on mods first before I changed tires. Best I could do was 12.0 on stock run flats with mods listed above. The Nittos netted a .5 second reduction in 1/4 mi time on the Dragy. At the track on a full drag pack it probably would of went bottom 11's. Most that get into the 10's have weight pulled or are at a fast track in mineshaft air.

FYI with my A8 SS, the 122 mph in street trim previously mentioned with some bolt-ons was 11.5 ET, whereas bone stock the car ran 12.0s at 114. With sticky tires and some bolt ons, it was low 11s to high 10s depending on weather. That was both ECM and TCM tuning, note that an automatic car with a locked TCM is hampered quite a bit. Yes, I had got in the mid-11s with the locked TCM (using sticky tires) in the early days of having the car, but once I got it unlocked and started tuning it, the car went MUCH better. Since you actually want to race, not just look at dyno sheets, this point is VERY important to note, if you have an auto trans. Current bolt on mods for reference: MSD intake manifold (not ported) 95mm throttle body (not ported) Rotofab CAI Velossa scoop DSX Flex Fuel sensor ECM/TCM tuning |

auto car should easily run mid 11s on a decent tire.
edit: i haven't been back to the track but the dragy says it went .5 quicker in the 1/8 than it did stock. same 60' but on the street, spinning a lot thru 1st.

Im running the 6MT. I know im not going to be as fast as an auto car, but I really wanted the sensation of shifting gears.

i think you could run mid 11s on a drag wheel setup. my car went 7.6 @ 97 in the 1/8 on some racestars and a mt et street r. 3900 lb raceweight, not good 60' haha.

my main goal for now, is to be as fast as my mustang was on e85. I know thats a silly goal, but unless i get there ill fell marginally like ive traded down (despite the Camaro being vastly better in many ways)

what mustang? i haven't had any gen 3 m6 cars give me trouble. the auto cars with bolt ons and ethanol are pretty fast.

I owned a 19 GT. I had it on full suspension, and an e85 tune from lund racing. It dynod 470 to the rear tires and it definitely felt faster than my stock camaro. though not by a huge ammount. I just want to get to that point.
