I feel like the Continental street tires made a huge difference compared to factory 3Rs. The suspension is obviously the same but the sidewall of the Continental's behaves with much more compliance. The impact harshness is so much better compared to 3Rs as well. Tram lining is absent and the cold performance is far superior. Tires behave like a spring which is the reason air pressure changes help as well.

I've only driven my ZLE on PS4S all around or combined w/ Nitto's in the rear and always thought the ride quality complaints were an exaggeration or the alternative tires really help. There have been some bouncy moments
but overall I have had no problems using it as a daily.

If you can bolt zle shocks onto a SS, why can’t you bolt SS shocks onto a zle

If you are talking about the baes SS passive shocks, they do not have nearly enough damping or spring for the aero the ZLE has. You have to realize that EVERYTHING is tuned to work harmoniously together as a complete package. This includes bushing sets, shocks, springs, sway bars, tires, etc. This is not the 60's anymore, sports cars are highly engineered and all the individuals parts come together as a cohesive package.

I understand what mrc is, I have it. I believe the guys asking if he can swap normal coil overs or struts on his car.
He doesn’t seem to be tracking the car. I would say base SS shocks with aftermarket springs would ride great on the street. Would it handle as well as stock, of course not, I think it would be ok to cruise and hit a couple turns on the street. I’m sure there are some people out there that just wanted the zle and want to dial it down for street duty to get ice cream and cruise and save the original shocks and tires. I could be wrong about what he is looking to do.. but there was a time you could get an almost new zle for the price of a 2yr old zl1. I would imagine that these ppl couldn’t handle the stiff ride and just traded them in. I was considering grabbing one and doing just this. Then swap wheels and shocks for glen or pocono

Yeah I understand that the car is turned and dialed with aero and other pieces in mind. And of course if you happen to change the shocks and springs, the car would not handle as well as the OEm setup. But yeah I am just trying to understand the options really. I don't mind the roughness as much. Only on long highway trips (yeah car is not made for these so not bashing the car, probably my lack of full understanding here).. do I do many of those long trips? Not really.. i don't daily the car, only a weekend car and eventually a track/autocross car if I ever stop procrastinating and get on board. I am just trying to understand what is possible and not possible. A reputable set of coilovers might allow someone to make the car a little more comfortable with the sacrifice of less handling performance.

The potential aftermarket customers are in the SS area, not in the ZLE area. Just doesn't make much business sense. I am sure if you spent enough money you could have something custom done, but it would be at a HUGE cost. I am sure if you reached out to Penske they could make some one-off custom valved coil-overs for you.

I'm local to OP if his location is current. Roads are perfectly fine around here even on 3R's. No complaints.
