Headlight Aiming Procedure?
Does anyone have a procedure for proper headlight aiming/pointing for the 6th gen Camaro? Maybe from the Service Manual?
I feel like my headlights are either a little dim or perhaps they are not aimed properly. I can see at least one adjustment screw for each headlight. Not sure if there is only one or not. Thanks. |

I don't, but generally it goes something like parking your car on a level surface. Turn your headlights on facing a wall or something similar, and taking a measurement from the center of the headlight to the top of the illuminated area on the wall. The illuminated area should not be higher than the headlight level on the car, but relatively close.

You too can download an owners manual from chevrolet.com.

Yeah, there's only one vertical adjustment, no horizontal. Proper measurement procedure is:
1) Measure height from ground to center of the bulb. 2) Put a tape line on a wall at the bulb centerline. 3) At a distance of 25 feet, the highest-intensity part of the low beam light pattern should below the tape line.

Official OEM headlight aiming procedures tend to be needlessly fussy. You should be able aim both headlights and double-check that the tops of the low-beam patterns drop as you back away from the wall in less time than it would take to just get the OE procedure set up. Don't even need 25' of driveway to do that. There's more that you can do, but I'm going to leave it at that for now. Norm
