Upper Pulley Question
So, I was looking at the Weapon X chart for LT4 pulleys and balancer combinations, many on this forum don't want to lose their warranty by tuning.
I can see where a 2.31 upper pulley would be enough of a change to warrant a tune certainly, however would a 2.40 pulley require much more fuel over the stock 2.50 ??? In another words, would a 2.40 require a tune or is their enough area in the stock tune table to handle spinning the blower a little faster than stock? Curious. |

I would definitely tune with a pulley size change

Anytime you jam more air into the cylinder you have to consider timing along with the air/fuel ratio.

You need a tune to be able to effectively utilize the change in airflow from a pulley change. Otherwise it is not worth the mod and could result in an overly lean condition.

I put a 2.30 pulley on without a tune with no problems but to really get the most out of it you probably want to get a tune for it. Just putting it out there I installed a 2.25 pulley and it cleared the blower snout just fine but it's tight, only about .030 clearance.

Thats really bad advice... No problems is very vague...Never do anything that can possibly change air/fuel without getting a proper tune. |

Agreed! This falls under the “Dont try this at home, kids!” catagory.
