I live about 40 miles outside of Austin and my SS 1LE is my daily. Canceled my cat’s non emergent vet appointment today as I was not gonna chance the hills here in Wimberley if it wasn’t a really necessary trip. Still have my OEM tires and I don’t trust them at all in icy conditions. Just not used to driving in this kind of weather being a lifelong Texan. Tomorrow I have to drive to work in Austin and will b taking the husband’s truck since he’s off. Much respect to all of you that have to endure months of this. I don’t know how you do it.

Well good thing you didn't go out and get stuck in something like this.

Granted in St. Louis they don't do a good job of it but never have accidents like that. Hell, 7 years ago when north Florida had ice they treated roads and shut some down I remember.

-30 here but at least the air doesn't contain enough moisture to make thick ice anymore. Camaro is currently plugged in to keep warm. Looking forward to next week when it's going to be closer to 0F and can be more liberal with the throttle.

I was tempted to go in the garage and get my SS since it wouldnt require any prep but I didn't want to chance it.

Anyhow, after making my Prius drivable again, the roads are covered in blankets of ice and water.. ..and we also got a Thundersnow.. ..Anyone else in the country on the road enduring this with a 6th Gen?

Yeh...been doing it every winter for about 4 years now just like every other car I have owned...no big deal.

Just spray the door and window seal areas with silicon spray. They won't stick anymore.

Truth!

Windshield blanket also for when you hear freezing rain in the forecast.

The biggest thing with cold weather is the same with our cars as any others - give yourself an extra 15 minutes to have the car warm up and thaw the windows.

Howdy! LOL, yeah, mine doesn't come out in this weather either. The GYSC3, cold weather and me just don't mix. I don't find it as fun to drive when the it starts getting loose on corners, or even on high speed roll hits. Just my preference - to each their own. Like you, for those days its the 93 hp civic (or whatever it has...).

It's central Texas, so we just have to wait a couple of weeks and we'll have some 70 degree days for a spell. Then onto 100+.

Aside from being garaged the Camaro is a non-issue for my only daily driver. The half-day that I stay home because of snow and ice is (VERY) hazardous no matter what you're driving. Great tires help a ton...my first year using the Mich PA4 has been excellent.
As I call it, I have about 5-8 days out of the year that this car is a liability due to winter weather but again, most any car is a liability those days because conditions are so bad. The upside those days is that it's a max of one day before the streets are treated enough to drive safely.
