2022 CT5V 668hp/659tq
So, will this supercharged variant be available in a 2022 Camaro and optional carbon ceramic brakes?

Maybe the engine will make it to the ZL1!

Well, it's an LT4. Sounds like they "cleaned up" some things inside the engine and retuned it. I see no reason GM wouldn't copy this into the Camaro ZL1, given the current 6th Gen may stay around a bit longer.
EDIT: Some excerpts from various articles on the new LT4: Quote:

The carbon-ceramic brakes aren't a big surprise: there were one or two ZL1 mules spotted, back in something like 2018 or 2019, that had carbon-ceramic brakes on them. The Z/28 carbon-ceramic rotors will swap into the 6th Gen Camaro hats... Last edited by Mountain; 02-01-2021 at 09:53 PM. |

Yeah, curious if GM will let this trickle down. It has been beat to death but the LT5 would be what we all want! Glad to see the CCM brakes are optional. That will keep the price more reasonable.

I might have to upgrade after someone takes the depreciation hit. I am glad they offer a manual in this high end beast!

I think its a safe bet that it will find its way into the Camaro ZL1. Considering this is a 6.2L and uses a 1.7L blower, it sure sounds like a slightly massaged ZL1. That being said, the HP figures are a little disappointing, with Dodge now turning out a 797HP Redeye Charger for the nearly the same price, the Caddy's power is nice but still going to fall short of what Dodge is offering for a sedan.

Agreed, this is the engine that needs to be in the Caddy and the ZL1 to compare to Dodge's offerings.

Looks great. Crazy how $100000 seems to be the new norm.

The DOHC TT 4.2L LTA is a sad sight to see disappear. Such a cool engine.

The CT4 and CT5 come standard with a 6 speed manual..... that's awesome.
I would rather have a CT4 but that's my preference. |
