For you Rush fans, in a few years, there will be a Motor law.

Then, my Camaro will be my little Red Barchetta.

Funny how art becomes reality.

For where i drive and what little miles i do drive it seems fine stock. This car is worlds better than my new C7 was. I think the A10 really makes the car feel more alive would be my guess.
If you do any mods that void the warranty then just replace the valve springs at the same time. One less worry.

4 years is the max for me most times. It was every 3 months back around 2005-2006 as i had to try everything back then and sure lost some money.

I think down the road these kind of cars will be gone for good as we are forced into boring rides or self driving crap. Hope i am gone before that day comes.

I picked up my car from the dealer Service guy said everything was good. The parts used
16 12691120 spring
2 12619787 gasket

the recall number N202319660

They didn't change the oil (I will take it in for that)
I want to see a scope into cylinder 7 for any possible damage (I will get that done)
To think I had a fiber optic scope but when I retired I gave it to the guy that worked on all of our city vehicles.

I traded my 2017 corvette vert for this car to have her park her Cadillac suv because I wanted to share the miles, as she drive 33 miles to work every day She didn't drive the corvette because of blind spots. The camaro didn't have that problem with her. I went through all the transmission issues with the A8 on the corvette But the car never broke down in the 4 years I had it. Now this car left her on the side of the road at 3am in the morning. That bothers me The fact that GM had a recall before they sold me a car that was subject to break down.

Unfortunately it’s not a recall. It’s a service bulletin. I do know how it is once a vehicle lets you down. Especially when it comes to the wife being stranded on the side of the road at 3am!!! I know that wouldn’t sit well with me either.

This is why I do not buy into the whole "well, it's under warranty if it breaks it breaks don't worry about it".

If the stereo breaks, fine, you can drive it around until you get it fixed. If a failure that causes the car to be inoperable occurs, it's a major ordeal. Especially if you're stranded on the highway at 3 in the morning.

That's why something like this is inexcusable and GM needs to issue a full scale recall on them, mail letters to the owners advising people to stop driving their cars, GM then needs for their dealers to arrange for towing the cars to the dealer for replacement of the valve springs, and in the mean time provide the customer with a free loaner.

The continued incompetence of that company is mind blowing, baffling, and quite sad. I love my Camaro like everyone here, but I do not mince words when I say I am not a fan of GM as a company. Since their bankruptcy you'd think they'd have learned their lesson. Obviously not.

There are other car companies who would have quickly done all of that and the Camaros with the bad run of valve springs would have all been fixed with the good valve springs by now and everyone would be happy.

I’m on line with Petrol Head about keeping vehicles until the wheels fall of or in some cases they rust out. Kept every vehicle at least 10 years. Very few did not have under 100000 miles. My truck is a 2009 Silverado is just turning 49,000 but is not driven except plowing snow and other things you would need a truck for. Had to have some rust work done last year (plowing snow takes it’s toll).

My Camaro is the first car that I’ve owned that will never see snow/salt covered roads. Like one of the other posters said who knows how long these cars will be around. So I plan on keeping it for a long time.

My 99 Z28 has over 200k on the clock, original LS1 motor still ran fine before I swapped it out for an LS3. No knocking, no pinging, just dripped a bit of oil from the rear main seal but otherwise she was a clean machine and I by no means was nice to that machine., the A4 had to be swapped out before that though.

I agree though GM really needs to do a better job at owning up to its failures. I had a terrible run in with them when my power steering failed a few months after getting my car. They kept negating the issue and put me through hoops in getting it fixed. I ended up suing them and won. But it didn't come without a haggle of headaches. If it wasn't for the Camaro, I would 'not' be a GM fan. Its a tough bondage. I love my SS but it is not the most reliable car I have ever owned. I am probably going to move away from GM after this car though. I will just keep it instead of trading it.

2021 1SS born on date 09/22. I have 1326 miles currently. Following break in schedule until 1500 miles. Fingers crossed. But I plan on driving worry free. If it breaks it does. Warrantee. None of that changes the fact of poor quality control on heat treat at the part supplier. That’s something GM will need to work out with them. Meantime, can’t hardly wait for warmer weather to get over 1500 miles. Hibernation until March.
