Break out harness
So its supposed to put the 1 bar out of the manifold to read the boro. Have the 3 bar in the manifold. But the one bar does nothing. unplug it and no change in the reading. Unplug the 3 bar and it changes the baro reading. So i dont understand.
The problem is the baro keeps changeing. Normal start up here is 14.1 but in a short time it goes to 15.9. I know thats not right. I just got the nguage and when it reads boost the boro goes down. Starts at the same 14.1 or so and as boost comes up the bro drops as far as 12.5. Again not right. What gives and what am I doing wrong? Do I have a bad harness? I can only find 3 different boro places to log in hp tuners and none make any difference |

That 1 bar is only for the Pratio. Any other baro reading is going to be the main map sensor. Since technically that map sensor is actually part of the maf.

Ok let me ask this. When logging runs does the baromtric pressor move? Mind does like over 2 points sometimes. just wondering if I have a problem?

So, what do you have for a setup? On a PD blower, the MAF reads the baro as Juiced alluded to and it works fine. But on a centri setup, if the MAF is pressurized then your Baro readings are incorrect and screws up your P-Ratio. I’m assuming you used a breakout harness to take the baro reading away from the MAF. It shouldn’t be changing 2 full points under boost IMO.

Yes its a procharger, with the breakout. It will read 14.1 at start up. Thats normal for here. Then as the car gets warm it just out of no where jumps to like 15.9. Then as boost comes on it will drop. If its 14.1 it can drop to 12.5 if its reading 15.9 it might drop to 14. Makes no sense to me. Why would it move and does other cars do this or do I have a problem?

Boost is measured from the boro reading correct?

Partially. Boost is from MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) minus baro reading. Baro is your outside barometric pressure and the only way it changes is based on weather and altitude.
So, for example, if your MAP is 28.5 and your baro is 14.1, then you’re making 14.4 psi boost.
