Powertrain warranty

Is the ZLE covered for track use for the duration of the powertrain warranty or just the initial bumper-to-bumper segment? I'm assuming the full 5yr or 60k miles.

Thx

The way I read it is its covered under the factory warranty but my extended warranty reads as not covered for race use.

Per Chevy/GM - not covered for, "...Misuse of the vehicle such as driving over curbs, overloading, racing, or other competition...."

You're not covered for actual racing or competitive events. If you go to a HPDE, that's a driving school and you're covered.

Tracking is different than wheel to wheel racing.

Here's an article that has quoted Al O stating if your car is 100% stock and you go track it, they'll honor the warranty. With a clarification on track day.

In both cases you are pushing your car to its maximum limits

Yes, both are pushing to the limit. However, tracking is pushing yourself and your car to the limit; racing is a competition event between individuals and cars. In those circumstances, GM does not want to finance the wear and tear or repeated racing. This is a track car, not a race car. So their position makes sense. Racing and tracking are very different things, they are only similar in that both situations have cars going fast.
