Final update. Bad spark plug in cylinder eight was the culprit for all the crazy codes. I’m guessing a misfire code triggers all the other issues for safety. Oil pressure back to normal. Ended up replacing all plugs and wires. Attached is the state of the plugs. All plugs were dry. The black liquid on the threads is the factory anti-seize. The bottom left is cylinder eight. Top right is cylinder one. Plugs are in order to their respective cylinders.

hi Rnovrit,

I’m impressed... but i’m also circumspect....

Just 1800 miles and the spark plug are in this shape ? How could it be possible ?

Is this how you drive ? Are you driving on track ?

I question it because if I have to change all spark every 2000 miles ... that’s going to be annoying...

I haven’t taken it for an actual decent drive in a while. Mostly just in and out of the garage to get it away from harm due to home projects. My best guess is I just fouled a plug due to short cycling the engine. No track days yet or racing. I think a more frequent “Italian tuneup” might help out. Lol!

Yes it is hard to believe a plug could go bad after only 1800 miles but not impossible. Those are supposed to last 100,000 miles without problems but I don’t and never will believe it. Glad you got it up and running again but I would have used the warranty if it had been me and not had to pay for any parts. I understand though about not wanting a dealership to work on the car and doing it yourself!

Thank you.

I have two dealerships in my general area and neither are what I would consider having a decent service department. I had to take a flight to go get the Camaro. We bought my wife’s volt locally due to massive rebates. It came back from the “first free oil change” leaking oil from the drain plug. They are both also horrible to try and get anyone on the phone. If you factor in the time spent dropping it off, picking it up and getting rides, plus the odds of it coming back with damage and my ocd, way easier for me to do it.

This is all very interesting to me. I was actually planning on replacing my plugs soon. Since my car is 2 years old now.

At least, before the oil pump died.

Best of luck with the oil pump. I hope it goes smoothly for you. I hate hearing about these.

So... if I Understand well What you said.... this is the fact that you havn’t driven since à long time ... and so the consequence is your spark plugs are out of order ...

Yes. Fouled a plug due to short cycles of running and not letting the engine get to normal operating temperature.

It’s rare but sometimes plugs just fail. I have also done emission tests on cars with over 250000kms on them that passed the test. Only to have the owners tell me to do a tuneup anyway even though the car ran great and passed with flying colours. Pull the plugs and guess what?!?! Near nothing left of the ORIGINAL plugs.
Sometimes you just get a bad one. Could have been cracked on install at the factory and the crack worsened to the point of failure.

Glad you got it figured out and good diagnosing.

x2. Just recently a friend lost a rebuilt engine (a classic Pontiac) with under 500 miles. He didn't drive it much other than short trips. After about a year he started having issues which he attributed to the carb. He started tinkering with it, so there was constant starting and then shutting it down. Then one day, it developed a serious miss, then serious noises, and then the engine stopped completely. It turns out the valves were caked with carbon and became sticky, one eventually got stuck, which bent a pushrod, and that cascaded. It wasn't pretty.

Thank you.

It is pretty amazing sometimes that there are engines out there running perfectly fine and yet upon inspection look like they should have stopped running years ago.

Hopefully this thread can be useful/helpful for others out there that get the same misfire issues no matter what mileage they have.
