Hi guys. Had a 15 1LE sold it for family reasons. (bought a wrangler JL with it ..dumb. dont criticize).

I have two camaro choices in front of me. 16 2SS with the eight speed and 18 1SS with the MN6 but no leather and no roof. the 2SS is loaded.

Both are pretty much the same price. I like the creature comforts of the 2SS and the fact that it has remote start on those hot summer days (it's black).

Will I miss having the stick if i go auto?

Hi. I say look around for a 2018 2 SS with a M6 or 8 auto. That seem's to be what you really desire, from reading your thread. Plenty of them out there! Don't settle. Good luck with your hunt.

I would go with a used 2018 2SS 1LE if you can find one or what jb54 replied preferably an M6 though. Pass on the 8 speed Auto.

i would second this. of course it depends on if you plan to daily it or not. I love my 1ss 1le but i don't daily drive it. Whatever you do get a 6 speed, you sound like me and i value a 6 speed more than creature comforts.

Agreed. All of my co workers with Chevy 1/2 tons with 8 speeds have dropped transmissions around 100k

Be patient and get what you want. If you want a manual, leather and sunroof, then don't settle. Wait for it, you'll find it.

Wait for a M6 2SS. It took me a few months to find one with a sunroof, but it was definitely worth the wait IMO.

Definitely wait for a manual if you like driving them. I love the way my SS shifts.

Nobody can answer this question for you, people's preferences vary extremely widely, ranging from

"weight reduction FTW, who gives a rat's *** about cooled seats and ambient lighting"
"love the moonroof that lets some sunshine in"
"mansmission all day every day, real men row their gears, those auto guys are pussies"

all the way to

"even the 2SS doesn't have enough creature comforts"
"reverse mohawk [roof line] FTW, who the *** wants it cut up"
"the auto shifts way faster and the stick is impractical in traffic"

etc., etc.

Since you have a 1LE, test drive at least a manual and an automatic SS, then definitely a magical 6th gen 1LE. You will know what you really want after these test drives.

The A8 hate is strong here, but it's actually a great transmission, GM messed up with the torque converter and the factory tune. If it turns out you fancy the auto trans and want total peace of mind, get a 2019+ with the lower torque spec A10, though.

I would search for a used 1LE---manual transmission, leather/suede seating surfaces, and it simply looks and feels more special than a standard SS.

Test drive both and see which one you like more. It's all personal choice if you want a M6, A8, 1SS, 2SS, etc. There are plenty for sale out there so you will find what exactly suits you.
