Yes they will pay off your car as part of the trade. As for the price they would give you on your trade, most of the pricing calculation comes from their online value source (black book, etc). For ex., They will punch in your year, model, trim level, mileage, etc and the program will give them a value. With that actual cash value (ACV) known they work the price up or down depending on your deal. Maybe they will do your out-of-state registration paperwork. Depends on the state and the dealership. They will deliver it any way your want, just maybe not for free. My local dealership, having the salesman deliver (drive it to you) would be free and he would complete the paperwork at the same time. Having it flat bed towed would most likely cost you. However, if it's a high profit deal, they may throw in flat bed delivery. Is the 0% for 84 months and no payments for three months a scam? No, a scam would imply it is not what it claims to be. It's an incentive, like any other sales incentive (and it probably replaces a different incentive for better or worse). Is financially sound to take an 84 month loan on a vehicle? Most will say no because of the negative equity usually involved. However, it is also a simple interest loan so you can pay it down, or off, quicker and stay ahead of the curve without penalty. Whether an incentive is good for your personal situation, well, depends on your personal situation. A cash buyer is not going to buy during a finance incentive but a person who works from a cost per month basis most likely will. Most people buy on a cost per month basis. Hence, the infamous salesman question, "Where are hoping to be on your monthly payment?" These are the people the finance incentive is targeting as it will lower the monthly payment (not the cost of the vehicle). You really should find the car you want and call the dealership to find out what they can/will do for you. The practices of dealerships and/or salespeople varies greatly from dealership to dealership. JMHO No expertise implied or expressed.

I just purchased my car a little over two weeks ago. I was a little worried about the process, but the dealer was extremely helpful. I didn't have them pick me up or anything though, I just went in and bought the car like it was any other day. Was the easiest car buying process I've experienced since the dealer was so empty.
As others have said, I would find the car/dealer you want to work with and just reach out to them. All of your answers will vary depending on the person and/or dealer you work with. Good luck brother! |

I am looking to upgrade also...But I am about ready to give up! It seems I always get/find the...Biggest Aholes in the business! Some have been down right...Mean!
Especially if in the NY and NJ area! One called me a SOB for trying to take advantage of the Covid-19 scare, when all I asked him was....is there any leeway in the price and BOOM...he went off!! lol Everyone I have talked to...We have... No Negotiations on Price...at all! I keep reading car dealerships are making huge deals and can get a great deal....Not on the East Coast, and Especially NOT on NY, NJ or anywhere in New England! lol To me...they have just gotten...Meaner!! lol

[QUOTE=Dark Phoenix;10767608] My suggestion is try dealers outside of your region that you know are open. /QUOTE]
I have been! It is almost Impossible, No Sorry...It Is IMPOSSIBLE, to get a good deal on a 2SS Camaro in...Maine, if not New England! Most the dealers, that I have dealt with, are just beyond anything I have ever seen...Major League - RUDE! That being said....The dealers in Maryland, Virginia and Ohio are not much better...especially...Ourisman dealer in Maryland...Avoid them like the plague! Stay Safe!

I don't know, I have been contacting multiple (8 or 9 I think?)dealers in the NY/NJ area, two I am currently working with, one here near me on Long Island and the other in NJ. No rudeness, willing to make a deal, no issues at all. Very helpful and cooperative, they seem like they actually want to sell a car! Maybe you are just not getting to the right dealers, or maybe it is not them. ![]() Oooops, I meant to quote your post WITH the entire Camaro Rules quote in it. I seem to be having good luck in this region, so maybe I am just lucky. Last edited by Nothing like an SS; 04-15-2020 at 01:31 PM. Reason: Misquoted post |

I also want to mention, all dealers were closed here weeks ago, other than service of course, however, they are all still doing business. The sales folks are working remote, taking calls, working deals. You can choose to have car delivered, or an appointment will be made for you to pick it up at the dealer, even though they are closed.
Many will even schedule a test drive, even though they are closed. Other than showroom closed, it seems to be business as usual around here. |

The good ones will find a way to adapt. I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who is the general manager of The largest BMW dealership here in Florida, they have modified their delivery to do the whole thing over the phone/computer using doc-u-sign, then they disinfect the car using an isopropyl solution spray after they prep it, and seal the door With a bit clear tape to make a marketing statement that the car is completely pristine and virgin. Then they deliver it to you Via flatbed and staying >8 feet away, they throw you the keys and you drive away.…
Currently they are on track this month to do about 50 to 60% of their normal monthly sales volume. That’s enough to keep them in business and retain all their employees…
