Updated GT350 vs SS 1LE
Well, not officially head to head, but given the laptimes it may be very close between those two?
In either case, looks like Ford has upped the ante with better tires, which make sense given the Shelby's lofty price. https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...-on-the-track8 |

Ive been on track with 2016-18 GT350’s. The Camaro SS 1LE is very much an equal (edge to the SS 1LE). I was recently on track with a GT350R and I will say the SS 1LE is very close, but the R is faster.
With the 2019 GT350 updates, moving it closer to the R, I think the 2019+ GT350’s will edge out the SS 1LE. Add the LT2 to the SS 1LE and that edge becomes equal again. But you probably wont see that until the GT350 potentially ceases production. |

I run laps around them, literally.
That doesnt mean that they are not as fast as 1le just means driver is more experienced. Without same driver testing both it's unfair to say either way. I've spoke to the Phoenix Racing and they have plain ole 5.0 flying! |

I ran a 6th gen 1LE just broken in at 1:39.9 at gingerman, the long course just like this. Zero mods just alignment. I hd a passenger with me and this was my first time ever in a 6th gen, one and only session. I am also no pro and am sure car has high 38s in it. My 5th gen gutted/chassis/brakes modded but stock engine and GYs 1:38.8. The new 350 is amazing no doubt.
