Tire pressures
Going to take the 19 ZLE out for its first autocross on Saturday that the local Porsche club is holding. Surface will be ragged(probably get a ton of front end push) since it’s at a high school drivers ed course. I’m curious where to start the Ps4 tires I have at for pressures. Temps will be bottom 90’s from what I see. While I’m an experienced driver(expired scale competition license) I haven’t done any serious track racing since about 2010. This will be my first “real” abuse on the new car and I would like to do my fellow domestic guys proud! lol

I may have to play around with them tomorrow anyway. I’ve got them set at 30/28 right now in the garage at 75 degrees. By the time I drive there and some heat comes in they’ll probably gain a few pounds! I hope I get a few good hits in. It’ll be good to be playing twisty-turny again.

By time you start your first run though the tires will have cooled back off. I always prefer to enter the event high and air down before the first run. At 30/28 you are going to get lots of roll over. I have found the best for me is 33/31 hot for autocross and I go a little higher for track days.

Try 32-33 starting psi and you should be fine. Road course is totally different with starting pressures.

I didn’t get to go anyway so it was a lost cause. Woke up with a pretty bad pinched nerve in my neck and right shoulder. Didn’t think it would help wearing a helmet and tossing a car around. Still hurting from it so pretty much played couch potato all day. Oh well, probably saved me some fun for next round.
