I contacted the team at BC Forged when I saw very few options on the market to make a track wheel in 18 for our cars. We took my car into their shop for some test fitment and measurements, and discussed what I wanted from a wheel and how I planned to use it. just over 4 weeks later, here is te finished result.

Notes on my car- For the final product pictured below, I am on GM's track alignment settings. -2.7 up front, -2.1 in the rear. We originally did a test fit on stock alignment. Rims are 18x11 and 18x12. Tires are new Hoosier A7's. 315/30/18 front, 345/35/18 rear. I debated running 335/30/18 rears, but I have a few 345's from the vette in my garage.

I highly recommend giving BC Forged NA a call if you want a track setup, forged wheel, that is proven to work on our cars. This is the RZ05. They have a ton of styles and colors available.

On to the show!

Is identical to stock setup except 18’s?

18's help the gear for drag racing but this is an R/T pony car. Did you do this for both?I won't budge from 18's as I enjoy light to light sometimes. And I am "Old school".

This is a dedicated road course car. I had hohos, and there is plenty more selection of tires in 18’s... this the reason for this

Those wheels are same as stock but in 18’s?

Offset width all of that?

And

When looking at the pics above I’m in love with the possibility of new rims.

Get the KLS01! Those are BC Forged new wheels!

Depends on how much you like departing with your money, I personally do not see a benefit paying the premium for a set of HRE wheels.

I tracked my C7 GS with BC Forged and as you see many others have with no issue they are great wheels at a reasonable price that have a drop dead beautiful design and finish.

I’m going with Bc forged myself, but if I was going to spend 1500+ per wheel I would do Forgeline wheels instead of HRE. For the money you can’t beat BC’s tho.

No front brake clearance issues at all? I might sell my 19" 1le factory rims to do this.

Look at seanblurr's (VERY informative) thread. With the barrel design, there is clearance, but, VERY tight to the caliper if you get a rock / debris in there. I'm looking at getting a set sometime of 18", so, I'm not opposed to it and have ZL1 calipers on my SS 1LE. Rears would have plenty of clearance.

Plenty of guys would line up to buy your wheels to help offset the cost.

. FYI - If you change your mind, go with a good vendor rep like PK Auto and company like BC, Forgeline, etc. that have experience with this specific fitment because many / most 18” won’t clear the calipers at all.

Interesting. I wonder how much clearance would be required on an SS 1LE to pull off 18" wheels with some fat tires.
