Track Rubber in Wheels

To the folks that track their cars, do you get a ton of rubber debris inside the wheels? i've even picked up a rock that scored the disk. Any ways of mitigating this? A filter? Thanks!

You can have the wheels ceramic coat which MIGHT lessen this a bit but the fact of the matter is the wheels get hot on track and the rubber coming off the tires (and the track is hot) so naturally they stick to each other. So you kinda just have to deal with it and clean it up later.

I use a wooden spoon to scrape the rubber off when I get home.

The only way to avoid it is to not go on the track. If you think the inside of the wheels is the only place that gets it, you haven't done a full post-track cleaning yet.

Clag gets inside fenders, under the back seat, all over the engine bay, wrapped around axles, you name it. It's not Camaro-centric in any way, all track cars get clag.

I love my track rubber. I keep it in a big Tupperware container, 4 lbs and counting

10-4. maybe i just observe it more in the camaro than in other cars on track days. i'm not worried about cleaning it, more about the other hard debris like rocks that have gotten lodged between the pad and rotor. i couldn't burnish out the vibration from the last track event so i took it to the dealer who ended up taking out 0.020

thanks krops, i've been using goo gone. will give that a try when i run out.

this was the driveway after the last washing. i've a ways to go before 4lbs.

Rubber marbles will get everywhere, as Ryephile has stated. But, if you want them to stay off from inside of the rims, spray Pam there before mounting wheels on.
A trick i learned from a circle track old timer crew chief.

haha, I get the same after every track day, including track rubber that has melted onto and into my tires. I try to do a quick clean of the inside of the rims at the track after each session while it's still hot.

Yep. Normal. I think most of my mulch in my front yard is not made up of this. LOL! I just pressure wash most of it off.
