Screens Going Completely Black
Hey Gang,
Picked up my new 2019 Riverside Blue SS 1LE yesterday, absolutely gorgeous in person. The pictures do not do it justice. Still working through the break in period before I can really enjoy it though. Unfortunately I have encountered an issue and was wondering if anyone else has had this happen. When I was driving it back from the dealership (which was a couple hours away), out of nowhere both the dash screen and the centre console went completely black. The music was still playing, and the touch screen was responsive (of course I didn’t know what I was selecting though), but completely black on the centre console. The dash screen you could faintly see the speedo, but not much else. I stopped the car and turned it back on again, but same thing. However, this morning when I turned it on the screens were working fine, wahoo I thought. But when I drove home this evening they were black again at start up. So my current theory is that when the car senses it’s dark outside, the ‘switch’ that’s supposed to flip to make it go into night mode (dimmer screens, etc) isn’t working properly. When it initially happened last night it was right around that twilight time where this could happen. Has this happened to anyone else before? I assume it’s just a warranty fix but was curious if anyone else had any experience. |

Try adjusting the brightness first. There were a few members with issues and I think the fix was an update to the radio.

Sometimes when there is a glitch like this, you could try disconnecting the negative battery cable for about 5 mins. just to give it a reboot. Sometimes this will take care of some odd glitches like you're describing.
