No need for a MOD loan... just save that cash down payment for mods. Any loan would be way more interest than a new car loan.

Also, LMR is a horrible choice these days. They are not what they used to be. Since you are down in League city show up to the local Camaro Club meeting at Bayway Chevrolet in Pearland. Should be plenty of folks there to steer you to a good shop like J-Rods speed shop or Sorian Tuning or Power Fab etc.

Great choice for a daily driver with the ZL1 + A10

When you mod - stuff breaks. Fact of life. You will have no warranty to cover the cost. If you can not pay for the repairs when stuff breaks, do not mod and certainly do not take out a loan to pay for them in the first place.

As you have stated, you already have had modified cars. I agree with the above post. Only you can decide, if you will have the funds to repair anything that breaks from being modified.

Take the 7k that you were going to use for the down payment and get headers, ported SC, 103 TB, 2.175 upper pulley, RF big gulp intake, NGK plugs/new wires, and miscellaneous items and make some real good power on 93. Probably a route I should have taken.

Won’t be a whipple build but it’ll be good power and reliable.

The most important thing to me personally is ordering this car the way I want. Ergo, a wonderful A10 ZL1 is in the near future. Due to certain factors, I basically need to mod the car the way I want right away, or it's not gonna happen for a long time. This is also going to be a daily driven car, seeing the dragstrip but not the track. I have experience with driving a built 02 Z28 (HCI etc with big hit from a TNT F1 Kit) and a Terminator Cobra with full bolt ons and ported blower....both of which were daily drivers.

First Question: Is it possible to take out an auto loan for car and mods? If not, what type of loan would you take out for mods, apart from the auto loan?

Mods looking at getting and having them installed at Late Model Racecraft in Houston!
-Carbon Fiber front splitter, "side skirts," and rear diffuser
-Carbon Fiber front air duct
-Various Carbon Fiber interior bits (REALLY wanna find authentic carbon fiber...no success)

-Whipple 2.9 with 102mm TB and Roto Fab intake (Not sure about pulley/boost)
-Kooks Headers, Borla X-Pipe and S-Type Catback
-And the rest of the 750hp package at LMR..I know know 750 pacakge, but with this full set up, it changes things at the wheels.

Thoughts on power with this build? The boost is the variable. I'd really like to make 700 hp or more. I'm not going to run meth or basically anything but 93 octane. No cam. No heads. If you think it can make 700, which pulley or amount of boost do you roughly think it will need?
The Carbon..

No side skirts yet.. But, I should have the 1st set soon from Trufiber.. According the Andersons the tabs that hold them on are to fragile to justify making and the other problem of the side skirt blends in with the door panel so a lot people will not mess with the having to paint that section.

Andersons and Trufiber has the Zl1 1LE splitter and I think a rear diffuser for a SS not sure on a ZL1.. they also have the more aggressive grill what i think you call air duct?

Interior parts that are Carbon overlays but no real parts duplicated yet although I have given trufiber some to make but for now Real Carbon over lays. from trufiber are..

3 piece steering wheel kit to cover silver TF
push button cover TF
stereo cover TF
window door lock cover TF
door handle cover TF
Gear shift bezel auto and m6 Ebay (loof for carbon no ABS in description)
GM dash plate as real carbon replacement part

ALL the above parts you can install even the front splitter stuff the rear diffuser pulling the bumper off will most likely break a clip no matter who you are no biggie. plenty of videos from people like lethal camaro to see how to take off front and bumper to change the diffuser. i've done it all to mine and about 4 other cars..

As far as power.. If you only want to do 750 hp package that's a pulley swap, headers, and intake.. Also if no more power is wanted later on and you want to max the factory blower then do blower porting and snout porting by where LMR probably subs the work to "Boost mode racing" they do badass work..

honestly I did all these mods except porting cuz i new i wanted to go further later on.. but headers, taking blower off, cai you can do all that then drive slow to Sorians for a tune!

here are 2 threads I did/doing..

https://www.camaro6.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=236

Since your car has a blower it be a easy swap if you go that route..

spend money on the DSX aux pump and the LPE hi side pump and you can really make good power without touching the cam shaft..

Perhaps there was some confusion. I'm needing to do this all at once, or none at all. My previous builds were "slow grow." I am not willing to settle for "none at all." I will have finances each month in case of "issues." I will not have the money all at the front end to have the car made the way I want it, all at once. This isn't a question of if I should, it's how I'm going to do it. So if the interest is a little high on the secondary loan, I'll simply pay the loan down quicker (double payments) to avoid long periods of higher interest.

Modding/replacing the blower does not negate the entire warranty, merely the power train warranty. Thanks EDFHobbies and Marko, sounds like a possible other option for sure! EDF, the links ended up not working. Something to search for?

I’d contact one the tuners recommended in your area and discuss your power goals with them and get an estimate on the cost. As suggested, if you can pay for the mods in cash by reducing your down payment that will be the best plan. Car loan interest rates are cheaper than other sources of financing and you’ll only have one payment to worry about with less impact to your credit score.

Congrats on finishing school!

Replacing the blower could cause a dealer to deny warranty claims regarding not only the engine, but transmission, driveshaft, rear end, brakes, suspension, etc. All a dealer needs to say is that the increased power caused the (fill in blank here) to break. Not talking you out of it, but with the mod list you are looking at, your warranty will be worth about zero. Be aware!
