I have bought both my ZL1's out of state from different dealers. Each one was done pretty much over the phone. Both were great deals for me, but it didnt happen overnight. There was a lot of back and forth, especially when there was a trade involved.
That too good to real pricing scheme, is a pretty slimy tactic when you are online shopping.

Nice! yea lots of back and forth but well worth it. I didn't have a trade....but tell me how did you manage that? wouldn't a dealer need to see your trade personally?

I provided pics to the dealer in Atlanta that I linked here earlier. They offered less than the local dealer (who didn't see the car either actually). Both mentioned that the number could change up or down depending on actual condition (which I certainly can't blame them for).

Honestly you would have thought the dealers on the trade would have wanted photos or maybe even an inspection, but no they frankly didnt seem to care. The trade cars VIN was all they wanted, or course my 2017 ZL1, I traded only had 5300 miles too. But seriously they acted like they could care less. They were just going by the current market value, and that was all they were going to invest. The one deal I almost did was in Iowa, so the new car was going to delivered via a transport company. And they were going to take the trade back.
Honestly I had some serious heartburn about buying a new performance car w/o seeing it in person. Dealers staff can do some really stupid stuff to a new car. In the end I found one that was within driving distance, so I could see it and test drive before buying.
I walked away from several online deals before I actually decided to buy.
