Does this quote sound normal

Ive had nitrous on all my cars, i like it. Im located in Dallas, I called one shop my old friend used to work at and pretty much if i wasnt dropping 25k on my car they didnt want to mess with it. They were trying to sell me on the procharger and meth set up.

Next shop I ask Could i get a quote on a Nitrous outlet plate kit, a microswitch, a purge and a 2step, i think. So its about 1500.00 in parts MSRP, i was quoted 4600.00 and 700.00 for tuning. Is this about right??

Everything on the LTx motors is electronic. Perhaps the cost increase is due to extra electronics.

ive seen some shops quote 6200 for a cam install, although this is to include all parts, labor and tuning costs. so it really depends, i say shop between reputable tuners / and shops. don't settle on the first, or the cheapest. quality work is key with these new gens.

Try Anything Automotive Performance up in Denton. They do great work and prices aren't out of hand. Plus James Karger does the tuning for them.

$1500 NOS high rise plate system kit (15 pound bottle)
$495 stand alone fuel system
$225 purge
$195 nos window switch
$300 LPE retarding timing box ( it’s $439 now)
$800 Tune
$125 switch panel
$185 heater pack
$85 pressure switch
$200 wire/various parts

Total $4,110. Not cheap to do it right. ( forgot progressive controller $129.95)

Do it right, don’t be cheap it’s your baby.

Labour - nothing. Installed it myself.

Ps I also upgraded to auto valve to turn on and off and auto pressure heater switch
Another $500

the quote you received sounds out of line in my option. Blastbeast's method is really over kill for the average joe.

here is the breakdown with some of the "bare minimums". this is obviously just my opinion..

nitrous express 15lb plate system 20938-10 1000$
tune (depending on what features you desire/tuner's going rate) 300-600$
lpe timing box (only necessary if u dont want a "nitrous" tune with timing pulled) 440$
nitrous express switch panel 62$
summit racing window switch with rpm 50-100$

If i were to quote this install; i'd charge around 600$ including the tuning. But most shops in texas should charge 3x this. If your not afraid to get a wrench in your hand i would install it yourself!

don't forget, you're going to need a "tuner" (like sct, hptuners, efilive, etc) to take advantage of all of the fun; like adding a flex fuel sensor, trans shift points, change timing or afr, etc. The possibility are endless but certainly shouldn't cost you more than 3000$ in my opinion.

Whats sucks is i can install the kit myself, but no tuners shops will tune it. Quality built my 800hp corvette, pat has been sick, im gonna visit him. he usually is sensible.

yes, my buddy runt told me to go there.

im just saying i had a nitrous nano, purge, 2 step, standalone fuel system for way cheaper, the stand alone fuel cell cost the most 1000.00 because it was when people first started using them in there vettes

Nice with the nano. Did you notice a difference at all adding the nano. I thought about it but didn’t do it.
