Is it possible to retrofit the 19 system to a 18 Camaro?

PDR has nothing to do with the rear view mirror. You may be mixing that up with the reverse camera that displays on the MyLink screen.

The camera (hopefully for 2020 MY) will be moved to the shark fin and 1LE's will be able to get it. This is also a better location since it is closer to the driver seat with a better distance perception.

OK, now I am confused. The mirror on the one I test drove was basically a rear facing camera that can be turned on at any time and totally separate from the reverse camera in the center console.

Are you saying that you can have the rear view mirror camera as well as the PDR?

The camera for the mirror is located in the center spoiler support. This is why it's not available for the 1LE since the spoiler is different.

The original back-up camera has been in these cars since the 5th Gen and is located by the license plate and comes on when the car is in reverse and displays on the MyLink screen is on all Camaros regardless of trim.

Also were the headliner problems resolved by the 2018 MY or not until 2019? Definitely want to avoid dealing with that...

Also I would also only need wireless charging to work with my Note 8 (which might be physically too large to fit on the pad and have it stay/work properly anyway), and if I have to have it physically plugged in for AA to work then it's a moot point regardless.

I think it's probably just going to hinge on how good a discount I can get on a 2018 vs. ordering a 2019 or finding one on a lot that they want to deal on. If it's several thousand difference I might put up with any 2018 infotainment quirks...it's not going to be a daily anyway.
I don’t use CarPlay either, but thought it was going to work wireless for 2019. Maybe not on Camaro? Bmw has had it for years wirelessly, and I thought GM was going to step up.

At least you have choice with Gm.. carplay or android auto.. and as of 2019, GM still includes it without yearly subscription fee!

I’ve been waiting to see if the 2019 part is a direct swap. If so, I’ll probably do it.

Yeah, that’s bullshit that they started doing that. The subscription thing, that is.

Keep us posted please, I’m always looking for the green charging icon and always fiddling with it if it hasn’t flown off the pad in a corner !

Didn't know this was a major issue. Neither my 17 or 19 had any problems.

The two options are mutually exclusive. You can't have the PDR and the rear view mirror camera.

Please elaborate. I went to build again and it looks like all you lose on the zl1 is collision warning with the pdr
