Dash cam hardwire using gen5diy harness Question

The hardwire kit that I bought has a 12v to 5v converter. on the 12v input side, there is a molded fuse to the power side. My question is can I just cut the mini fuse off and hardwire it directly to the added power lead on the harness? Or do I need to add an in-line 15a?
