Msd 2 Step
Hello all,
Has anyone had a chance to install an msd 2 step. I'm in the middle of installing mine, but the instructions are rather vague. I'm trying to connect it, at the clutch pedal. There is 3 wires at the clutch pedal, None are 12 volts? I tried the middle wire (yellow) as i read on here that another member used that one, but it actually turns off the box when i press the clutch in, vs engaging the box! Hit a wall on this one, any ideas? ![]() ![]()

I think you need a window switch to be able to use the clutch because it's a clutch position sensor, instead of just the on/off style sensor older cars had.

Ok guys I was able to make it work. Forum member Est98ss told me how he wired it! You need to wire it opposite of what the msd instruction say and add a toggle switch;that’s the trick. Or else car won’t read the clutch pedal signal when you go to start it again! So basically, hook up to 12v, add a switch to shut it off before you start the car! And tap in to yellow wire at clutch pedal plug.
Thanks est98ss

Does the msd work much better than the factory launch control?

Tbh I’ve never really used the stock one! I just wanted the 2 step to be able to play with the rpms, and set it specifically to certain rpm when testing mods. I was all over the place trying to hold my launch at 4,200. I believe the stock launch control is around 3500 but don’t quote me on it, I may be wrong as I’ve never used it.

Nice! I hope to be hooking up a 2 step soon.
At some point I think I had a backfire that bent both my npp valves. I wouldn’t be suprized if 2stepping it with the valves closed bent the valves.
